Lets play our home games in Met-life stadium! And if your not one of the luck 90k that gets tickets inside we will simulcast the games to huge billboards to every country on the earth!

Who are all these people coming to our games that we suddenly need a bigger venue? We haven’t played a game yet and people are calling us the Gonzaga of the east. That would be nice but the comparison is a little far fetched. Gonzaga is a bigger school 7.5k students with a larger endowment in a much better conference. I’d be happy with being the St. Mary’s of the east. Does anyone recall that Gonzaga has been ranked as high as number one? We cracked the top 25 once in 1980 with the best team we ever had. To get just that far we’d have to go undefeated blowing out every Maac team and win all our Ooc games. I like to think big but come on! I have no doubt that Pitino is going to make us better and raise our profile but I don’t see us reaching the heights of Gonzaga.

There are a lot of college hoop fans in the area with no team to follow. Good opportunity for the athletic department to build something. There was a stretch in Albany with Fran where they attracted a community following. No reason Iona can't exceed that with Pitino.
Mascot upgrade not withstanding!

ichoops, I hope you're correct, but I'll have see a lot of sell outs at the HAC this year, or whenever the health issue is resolved. Of course this is Spring, a time of re-birth and optimism, whether we are talking College BB, MLB or the NFL Draft. Bottom line, I think you have a better chance of growing to six feet than what ever 'building' you're hoping for.

I’ll be very happy to be the Iona of the East. We aren't? We are. Therefore don’t need these other comparisons.
