Yea, there's lots of things you can do, cheer hard, wear the teams colors, give a pep talk, all good, but i'll take a bunch of points over all of that. This team has plenty of scoring options — EJ, Gist, Agee, etc. Most important role Jelly can play is to be a safe and smart conductor of the offense, reduce turnovers, find the open man, and play tough defense. Was expecting Jelly to be more than that type of guard.

Team had 17 turnovers, Jelly had 1. That's because some of the guys decided to play one on one for much of the first half. Team play would have made Perez and Van Eke more effective offensively. And that would have allowed the team to set up the defense more frequently. Sorry. This was in response to thehat not 05.

First three minutes were encouraging. Agee great focus. He’s a warrior. I thought Jelly did a nice job grabbing some long rebounds and playing with energy. Some of the shot versus pass decisions were questionable but I like his overall play and he will benefit the team. Clearly he will endure as the 1, allowing Gist to play the 2 and free up for more shots/drives. Thiam did not play in second half. I was expecting more minutes from him. Ross looks like a solid recruit. He’s probably 7 or 8 in depth chart but I could see him getting many minutes. Risto looks like he bulked up. He also played minimally in second half. Tough to get a read on Van Eyck. Looks like he can rebound and has a decent handle. Looking forward to seeing McNeil contribute. Coming back from 18 took a lot of energy and I believe we were trailing 41-45 and La Salle rattled off 4 quick points to extend the lead. That seemed like a pivotal stretch. I’m proud of Iona’s heart to keep fighting. I like that Jelly had the stones to take that last shot. I thought his 5th should of been Agee’s 4th foul. Announcers sucked, never announcing starting lineups or subs. Constantly saying Iona is shooting too quick in the possession. They sounded very pro LaSalle. New ref rule on flopping is going to create a lot of controversy with questionable calls, namely the Gist call. Sorry for the rambling. Just some random thoughts.

IMO, Tim would have managed the bench differently and team wouldn't have been so gassed in OT.

Im not going to get worked up over this game because they played like the Iona team that we were hoping for 2nd half, especially with the defense.
No Cluess obviously was not practical, but the 8 for 40 from 3 is just not acceptable. That better improve, and hopefully it will even with this longer 3 line.
Lastly Perez was AWFUL and he probably cost them the game in OT..
Looking forward to Wednesday.. see you all there!

Ristanovic and Van Eck were 0-7 off the bench Perez 1-7 and 0-3 from the charity stripe. Iona was 8-40 behind the arc REf's were terrible, to both sides. Called some ridiculous fouls early, then later in the game allowed scrums and wrestling matches and didnt whistle. Iona didnt score in OT Not impressed with Jelly Jelly had 11 rebounds as a pg

Team showed great heart coming back the way they did. Doesn’t matter who the opponent is, erasing a near 20 point halftime deficit is never easy. Bad turnovers killed us. We had our chances but missed too many open shots. Also Agee with zero shots in OT should never happen. Only thing worse than the outcome was the fact that only about a dozen Iona fans showed up. Poor job. +100 never want to hear complaining not enough home games or games we can drive to

I feel the team will be ok come league play. Iona is awful out of conference on the road and showed it again today. Agee, Crawford and Gist were great. The rest stunk with the exception of Ross who played hard. I’m not sure Perez could be any worse if he was trying to be bad. Not sure what his supporters see in him. Hopefully he turns it around. Washington had more fouls than point and never got near the rim. Hopefully Cluess is back for the home opener. Gist was great? Y are t/o a good category for a high number?

Godammit, it's ONE game. Some guys played OK, some did not play well and we lost on the road in overtime. If not for the terrible shooting at the start we probably win. Jelly missed allot of shots, Perez was awful andAgee was pretty damn good. In three weeks i can imagine some of you praising how good some of these guys are and you didn't realize they were that good. Or not. Please just give it some time. First close look I have had at the team and I actually think we have something. Wish we could have found a way to win, but on to the next one.

Tough way to lose after coming all the way back. They had the momentum heading into that ot but let it get away throwing up brick after brick - those missed free throws by Perez were particularly bitter - he just doesn't shoot that bad. Would have like to have seen Jelly drive to the hoop more. He seemed so effective getting to the basket virtually at will in the two games I saw him play. With the exception of Agee, they played like garbage. The talent is there, all is fixable. No need to head for the ledge. Get well TC. I thi k jelly played good but u r comparing today to a practice and d3 game and u think he should have got to the basket at the same rate, really?

Today was just a bad day for Iona basketball. Another loss to a mediocre team in ooc play and more importantly seeing cluess not there two weeks in a row. Just not a good day and I’m hoping coach cluess is ok.

PS I have never heard of anyone on this board complain that our non-conference road games are too far away. 3 gripes I HAVE heard 1)Strength of schedule- too weak 2)Length of schedule- to short 3) Home games too few.
