The new season starts on Friday! Conference play can’t come quickly enough.
SPU is 3-6 with losses to SJU, Bryant and UConn (they lost to the Huskies by 10, we lost to them by 18).
Will be great to have our home court back, too.
Go Gaels!

"Associate head coach Tra Arnold - in his second year at Iona - continues to serve as acting head coach for tonight's contest as Tim Cluess continues to monitor a health matter."

Was hoping Cluess would be back this weekend. Having said that, even with SPU playing better since Holloway returned, this is a game Iona really has no excuse to lose at home. SPU plays lots of Freshmen, while Iona has three All-Maac players who have won a MAAC championship(s). Sounds like Arnold is working the team hard this week. According to posts on instagram, they have had multiple 4 hour practices. Whatever chemistry issues are going on that have been posted about here, time for these guys to mature and put a end to that BS. They won a MAAC championship together last season. Time to move on.

I hope Coach Arnold doesn't bust out the index card. That seemed awkward at the Colorado game.
