Lol..what a disgrace. This team is just going through the motions. SPU just out hustled Iona. Embarrassing a senior team gets run like that to end the game by a bunch of freshmen on their home court.
Season over.

Come on now we all knew this was the way it was going to go. No TC no season. Talent needs to be coached and we don’t have a coach.

Gonna start the league 0-3, at least.

No Tim, no wins. We should just start recruiting for next season now. This one is over. Yep. Hopefully TC gets healthy and just recruits and not coach the rest of the season. It was a great run but it's now a total rebuild, including a shake up on the staff. Need a coach with solid AAU/HS connections with the local programs.

Incompetent coaching, especially the second half substitutions.
Jelly looks lost out there and we were so tentative after Agee fouled out. Awful.

I was sick to my stomach watching that performance. Every player standing around, not fighting for rebounds or boxing anyone out in the last 7-8 minutes. The body language could not be worse...to a man. IW doesn't even look like he wants to be on the court. No energy coming out of timeouts whatsoever. As an alum and longtime follower of this program I was very disappointed....and frankly embarrased at the lack of discipline and effort. These young men need to develop some heart, and fast, or they will find themselves in the basement of the league quickly.

I just hope TC wasn't watching - this could cause a set-back. It didn't do my heart any good. Get well soon, Tim!
Go Gaels!!!

On a brighter note, I saw EPat in the crowd and saw Don Guy in the new Iona commercial.
Go Gaels!!!

What the heck are our big men doing out around the perimeter for a majority of the game? The worst thing that can happen is Agee and Thiam connecting on three point attempts. Just gives them more confidence to stay out there instead of being down where they should be. Get down low, bang and assert yourself PLEASE!!!!

Cluess may not have a life threatening illness but watching these games is as life threatening as it can get for him!
The ledge has become a curb, there is such little expectations now, you can’t even hurt your toe!
That was the worst home loss in Iona history!
That was the worst coached second half I have ever seen, and the last 6 seconds of coaching was epically bad and worthy of the hall of shame!
You can abuse Washington all you want but Gist is just as bad, I’ve had enough of him.
With that bad of a last 10 minutes you can’t find any minutes for Perez or Ristanovic?
This is a Pig team at best unless Cluess can come back and pull out his magic wand.

I still have hope they can turn this around. Not a lot of hope but some hope.

Kudos to St. Peter’s for doing what they needed to do to pull out the win however they needed help and Iona did everything they could to help them out. The players did their part and Arnold certainly did all he could. Now some might think I’m being sarcastic and I am but sadly it’s also true.

Joebird gets his true Buzzer Beater! That was so predictable I forgot to mention it in my post. Iona has now been on the losing end of all 21 buzzer beater ( my estimate) games since the Valvano era. The ridiculousness of having to check the monitor on all buzzer beater shots now means there really never is a buzzer beater with full spontaneity, that is something we will all have to tell our grand kids about, though if you are an Iona fan there never will be one to tell about! In my previous rant I also failed to mention this Iona team is good at one thing past Cluess teams have done well, that is blow big leads! Arnold learned that lesson quickly, unfortunately it is the other 50 things Cluess is good that he didn’t learn. Watching that 17 point lead disappear with a perfect combination of turnovers, bad shots, lazy defense, flagrant fouls, missed free throws and poor decisions was simply a thing of Beauty!!

I'll blame the euphoria of learning Cluess's illness isn't life threatening for this prediction. (Mark) Murphy's Law = Any shot that goes up against Iona at the buzzer to win will go in. Any shot put up by Iona at the buzzer to win will not go in. Absolutely brutal all around. This team is a rudderless ship. Worst body language I've ever witnessed. Seniors need to step up and take over.
