Agee got killed on the boards.he had more fouls than rebounds. Fairfield got a lot of second and 3rd chances. Crawford falls asleep on D at times. Both can be fixed with effort. Would like to see Washington drive the ball more, he was quickest guy on the court. Push the agenda and get to the hoop. Big fan of what Van Eyck brings is to the floor. To Agee’s defense, there were numerous possessions when he was outnumbered where there would be three Fairfield players in the pant and Agee was flying solo. Perhaps if Van Eyck and Mo get more meaningful minutes, Agee should have some help on the boards.

Ristanovic and Nikolic played more on an NCAA Tournament team. They rarely play now on an underachieving team. I'm sure there are reasons. Looking for some insight. I thought Nik could of been useful tonight in a slugfest half court style game. He could have helped Agee with the boards.

Hope to see more ball movement in the future. A big part of Tim’s style is spacing on the floor. Movement without the ball created that spacing. The weave sometimes creates it as well. Many times last year commentators noticed the ball never touched the floor. It seems to me (IMHO), that many times one player dribbles and four others stand around. It seems to happen particularly when Agee or Crawford are backing down. We should be able to get more easy baskets when the defense double teams in these situations. Hope it happens as the team hell’s together. Go Gaels. Let’s build on the win!

We need to play only on Fridays. 3 of our 4 wins on Friday nights. We do play on Friday’s. Check the schedule 😉

Good win last night, but agree 100% with the ball needing to be moved more in the air rather than dribbled. Improving, but often times guys are still trying to do too much on their own. 8 assists on 25 field goals doesn't translate to good chemistry. Missing the good ole days when we averaged 83 PPG. Onward and upward.

Yup not the prettiest, still a lot of room for improvement, but a win is a win. Good to see Mo and Van Eck in there. Spread the mins around a lttle bit. Jelly/Crawford/Agee/Gist our main lineup, do not play like a cohesive unit. Perez's 3-ball, his most valuable contribution, is off. I think Ross has improved, he has a quick first step, he has some versatility.

Tidbits: *A win is a win, but we didn't play very well. *Way too much one on one. Hence we only had eight assists. And 11 TO's. Jelly is the PG, so it's up to him to run the offense. Really hasn't happened yet. He seems to epitomize the score first PG. But he'll only learn by playing, and I was glad that Coach Arnold started him. Now, I'm hoping that Asante starts, also. *Agee, imo, shouldn't be handling the ball so much, and trying to back down his man. When that happens, the other four guys just stand around. Seemed that it would be better if he played in the low post and we fed him the ball. If the play isn't there he could pass out to an open shooter. And he's a good passer when he doesn't force things. *Van Eyck does a lot of good things but he's not very strong. Hope he adds muscle this offseason. *Mo Thiam was critical to last night's win. Played about the same time as Agee, with 2X the number of rebounds. Shot 50% from the field and the "three". But only got four shots. *Attendance was 1428 which included a lot of kids. Next Friday, students will be back and I'm hoping for 2K. *My rotation is IW, EJ, Asante, Tajuan, Ross (if we go small) or Van Eyck. Mo and Ben off the bench. Also, have to find some developmental time for Risto. *Just a reminder if you think the Marist game will be a W, going into today's game (two of them) the HOME TEAM HAS WON EVERY GAME this week. In the MAAC.

So u would have played him and not van eyck so we must give coach credit then No, I didn’t suggest that at all. Never mentioned that Nik should take away Dutch’s minutes. In a half court grinder type game like last night, I have no problem with Nik spelling Agee around media timeouts and to protect him if he gets into foul trouble. Not a ton of minutes but there were probably 6-8 mins for him. Obviously, this does not apply in a fast paced game.

In the MAAC. Not sure what happened to Perez but his 3 point shot is way off and the charge called on him was out of character. It may be a confidence issue for him. He looks a few steps slow. I think Mo and Dutch should get most of Ben’s minutes, and most likely share the minutes Ross gets.

Side notes that probably I only care about:
Game highlights were on channel 11 10 o’clock news. I can’t even remember the last time an Non Manhattan maac regular season game showed highlights on any of the ny late news shows. It must have been a VERY slow night in sports.
Again McNeil spotted in the stands. He must still be attending Iona and sitting out for Academic reasons.
