Tidbits: *A win is a win, but we didn't play very well. *Way too much one on one. Hence we only had eight assists. And 11 TO's. Jelly is the PG, so it's up to him to run the offense. Really hasn't happened yet. He seems to epitomize the score first PG. But he'll only learn by playing, and I was glad that Coach Arnold started him. Now, I'm hoping that Asante starts, also. *Agee, imo, shouldn't be handling the ball so much, and trying to back down his man. When that happens, the other four guys just stand around. Seemed that it would be better if he played in the low post and we fed him the ball. If the play isn't there he could pass out to an open shooter. And he's a good passer when he doesn't force things. *Van Eyck does a lot of good things but he's not very strong. Hope he adds muscle this offseason. *Mo Thiam was critical to last night's win. Played about the same time as Agee, with 2X the number of rebounds. Shot 50% from the field and the "three". But only got four shots. *Attendance was 1428 which included a lot of kids. Next Friday, students will be back and I'm hoping for 2K. *My rotation is IW, EJ, Asante, Tajuan, Ross (if we go small) or Van Eyck. Mo and Ben off the bench. Also, have to find some developmental time for Risto. *Just a reminder if you think the Marist game will be a W, going into today's game (two of them) the HOME TEAM HAS WON EVERY GAME this week. In the MAAC. Washington has played completely opposite than what we expected. IW was a pure PG at Minnesota, with a great A/TO ratio, and struggled with his shooting and scoring. Really surprised his A/TO ratio is only 30/24. I guess you can explain the lack of assists on the poor team shooting, but I am surprised by his 24 turnovers and some poor decisions. Based on his stats in the Big Ten, I was expecting his great A/TO ratio to continue at Iona. Hopefully, that turns around. What is interesting is that all of his other stats have improved. Despite the constant posts concerned about his shooting, he is actually shooting better. His season shooting stats are up to 41% and 32% from three. Not confusing him with Steph Curry, but when you take away the 1st two games of the season, he has shot 45% and 36% from three the past 9 games averaging 10ppg. If he can cut down on his turnovers he could play a major role in turning this season around. If he can continue to shoot 45/36/79 the rest of the year, wins might start to pile up.

Side notes that probably I only care about: Game highlights were on channel 11 10 o’clock news. I can’t even remember the last time an Non Manhattan maac regular season game showed highlights on any of the ny late news shows. It must have been a VERY slow night in sports. Again McNeil spotted in the stands. He must still be attending Iona and sitting out for Academic reasons. McNeil situation? Many of the posters here have inside info. That kid's a phenomenal athlete; what's going on?

If this is true and I suspect it is, if McNeil sits out the year, does he still have two years of eligibility?

I remember some defensive hustle in one game but is it fair to expect more than a role player off the bench?

Why because he is bad in school? He played 2 games. In one game he showed some decent energy and hustle on defense. In the other game he looked completely out of position on offense. I’m not referencing his academic situation, just simply pointing out that we should not expect too much from him. Do you realistically see him cracking the top 8 in the rotation?

Why because he is bad in school? That's exactly what I was asking. I know there are rules regarding privacy but I also know a student being declared academically ineligible has been announced before. Is that against the rules now? Maybe. I don't know and was hoping someone here did.

I forgot to add in my Tidbits post, but I noticed at about the 26 seconds mark, Asante went to the foul line, and Iona pulled its other four players off the line. Another sign of better coaching.

He played 5 minutes u must be the best scout in America

No one guy should be there with soft pressure so they can't roll ball to half court without the click starting
