So this is who remains: Ristanovic-JR Brown-JR Ross-SR Cashaw-SR Gist-SR Van Eyck-SR One is supposedly leaving which would bring the number to 13. Really can't afford for another senior to leave, unless the staff holds onto the scholarship. If not that would only leave 1 open scholarship for the class of '21. The staff is involved with a bunch of really good kids, so only having 1 remaining would not be ideal. Kind of the reason I was surprised they took both Chantilou and Richardson so early. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out There is also the possibility that one or more of the recruits may not qualify or may not be able to make it to campus.

No, sorry, I mean we're still 1 over so 1 more is heading out. Should be done then. Need a PG, I think only 2 players are safe.. They have to pass their classes also Now that Jelly is gone, it is imperative that we have a solid PG. Gist will excel as a 2 but not at the point.

On paper, it seems to me that the starting PG will probably come down to Chavez vs. Meyers. Since Chavez is more experienced and has played the point, I'm guessing he starts.

This roster is athletic and has lots of size. It's a given Iona will play a full court pressure defense, which will hopefully lead to lots of steals and quick fast break baskets. My question is on the offensive side. Pitino was famous for the 3pt shot when he was at Providence. I don't remember, was that also the case at Kentucky and Louisville? In one of his interviews he mentioned he learned and really liked some European styles of offense, which I believe is lots of passing and cuts to the basket? Will we still be watching a team playing at a very quick pace with lots of 3pt attempts?

I think Gist,Meyers not quite ready and Chavez is a much better 2 guard,he shoots it like Sean Armand, which is a lot to say!!

86, I think you are being hard on him. But a very funny post nonetheless.

86, I think you are being hard on him. But a very funny post nonetheless. We have not seen enough of Gist at the point to get a read on his ability to control the tempo of the game or evaluate how much of the floor he sees. I go back to when he and McGill were on the floor. McGill could control the flow of the offense, he saw the defense and responded accordingly. Not so much when Gist moved ever to the point. I have watched a fair amount of video on Myers. He is a point guard of the Machado McGill mold. Is he ready to run a DI offense? I don't think the coaching staff lets Jelly walk unless they feel good about the PG options.
