Tidbits: *Is this a good thing? Your PG leads the team in rebounds and your center leads in assists. Maybe yes, maybe no. *Another disappointing attendance number, 1313. Less than Friday. *We'll know if the Siena fans are back, come Friday night. Yesterday, they had a big home win over Quinnipiac, which might encourage "fan busses" for our game and they take over the gym. *Apologies to Forest Gump, but this Iona team is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. Consider point totals for the last three games: Agee (16/24/0) Crawford (DNP/18/14) Gist (22/0/15) Washington (25/8/14) Ross (15/7/8) Thiam (2/0/13) Van Eyck (4/8/0) Perez (0/2/7) *Talk about parity in the MAAC: 1st place two losses; 2nd place three; 3rd-8th four losses. *Keep your fingers crossed about Gist, and hope that his injury wasn't serious. It looked bad to me, but I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn Express, last night. *An unexpected bright light for the Gaels, imo, has been the play of Isaiah Ross. Love those lefty shooters. *And we lost yesterday's game because of rebounding, although the officiating didn't help. Andy O'Brien has worked three Iona games, this season, and we've lost all three. In those three games we've shot 25 fewer free throws.

I was most impressed by Agee , he handles and passes the ball like a guard

What do I know! Was told attendance would be a near sellout for Sunday. So much for that!
1,300 fans is pathetic IMO, no matter how bad we are playing.

This was probably an assumption based on the kids being back and the dance team that performed at halftime always coming with tons of family members. However, as usual, Iona students never show up. Also, casual hoops fans always rely on our record to make decisions about attending. And, our record sucks.

This is a tough team to watch, I'm not surprised by the light attendance. I've been to 2/6(Ohio, Niagara) home games this year, both horrible loses.

Hey, I'm as diehard as anyone, and within an hour's drive. Life gets in the way a lot and I miss games. If we were 15-0 would I miss as often? Probably. I do think the online streaming makes it easier to bail on occasion.
But 70 is right, we don't need a bigger facility than we have now. The college made the right choice.

Realistically, I don't think the College had a choice, unless it was to do nothing. As for the students who can't make the walk from across North Avenue, I'm just glad we aren't still playing in O'Connell Gym, as we'd only get students from Rice Hall.

Despite all the negativity, Iona looked pretty good, at times against Monmouth. We were quicker than usual, and not having Crawford was probably the reason. No doubt that EJ is one of our best players, but the team is better/quicker when he is not in the game. With him we play better when we go four guards, and have to hope we don't get killed on the boards. JMO.
