Did they show enough guts tonight? When I said guts here I meant the coach having the guts to press, but maybe he was right and what they need to do is simply play good half court defense. I had no confidence before tonight that they could do that, but they showed some of that tonight, though I think Quinny helped that by being awful offensively. Pretty sure In an earlier post I said they were playing with guts tonight, but I guess you didn’t notice that one. This was one game, I have some hope, but let’s see this again Sunday and next weekend and then we can start thinking big. I did see it, gave u credit and then u quit on them again

Great win, but would like to see some consistency before we get too excited. The guys showed fight and grit, and that’s what matters most. Win Sunday and we could move into 6th place.

I believe (not sure) that Marfo leads the country in rebounding. And tonight we held him to eight boards and it might be the first time all year that he was held under double figures. Again, not sure, but I think so.
P.S. Spotted JPR right behind the Iona bench, and I'm sure he passed along some Board advice to Coach Arnold.

Not sure why Thiam didn't get any PT tonight but I hoped he watched how Van Eyck played tonight. That's how Thiam needs to play. Attack the rim, defend and fight on the boards. Stop being a perimeter player. Being a 6'9" athletic kid he should be able to be a productive rotation player in the MAAC. He can still play a important role for Iona.

One concern: 0 points from bench. Cashaw/Nic/Perez were 0-1 in 12 combined minutes, although Nic had 5 boards in 7 minutes. Not a concern, they both don't scorethey know their roles

Is there ANY chance that Gist returns this season?

You'll see this from here on out.

Is there ANY chance that Gist returns this season? From my understanding, no, but that's not some official word.

How can any fan have confidence in this team. Like I said nice to have some hope. I’ll still be a fan if they have another 2-28 year, but I also will still complain. You be a fan your way and I’ll be a fan my way.

Short rotation, maybe Cluess said its winning time and Arnold remembered how we do it the last few games each year, starters play unless they are in foul trouble or exhausted BINGO. We were 7-15 last year, beat Quinny there and won the next 9 games. Sunday is a huge game, let’s get some fans there, easy ride up 95 and easy parking,no football and good weather !!!

Better defensive effort. Offensively the spacing was much better and people shared the ball more effectively. A good win and something for the team to build on.
