Nice comeback win. I would split the game ball between Risto and Jelly (with a slice for EJ based on his second half performance). We were much better in man today as opposed to zone. Rotations were late in the zone leaving open Marist 3’s. Is it confirmed that Risto has a dislocated shoulder or is that just speculation?I agree that we need Gist back. A veteran player who can handle tourney pressure. He can make clutch shots and handle the point duties if needed. Due to injuries, it will be vital to get some help from the bench. Risto displayed that today. Is it possible for Mo or Perez to give us a similar boxscore? I think it will be needed due to our depleted roster. The standings are the standings and we can’t worry about past results. One game at a time. Al Davis basketball. Just win baby! That would be Van Eyck, and as far as I know, nothing is confirmed, nor do I expect it ever will be confirmed. How long have you been a fan? Yes, sorry I meant Dutch. Yes, I understand mums the word when it comes to disclosure from the team and we may never find out the injury to Dutch. Lol 😀

He was the only one on the court Wrong. This was early in the game when Marist was taking a big lead. And it wasn't only Crawford Very true. It started with our first shot of the game. Ross should have pulled it out when the defender closed in on him.

It’s my understanding that Dutch’s injury is not serious. Don’t know timing of his return however...

This Dutch Rista combo is impressive. Rotation seems set.

We got down 12-3 early with our starting five and one of the reasons we had to use our bench was some dumb fouls by our starting five ( and some questionable calls). This is why you are my favorite poster, Joe. We have just won four in a row including a great comeback from 10 down at the half and your posts are almost completely negative. Sounds like we will be 20 point underdogs on Wednesday. Greg think you are being a bit tough on me. If you read all my posts since Friday I don’t think they are overly negative. We played great on Friday and the previous 2 games, and had a nice second half, however the first half was bad Iona, and maybe we needed that to remind us that we need to show up every half and play like we have the last 3 games in order to win. Also See my post on Jelly. But as for Wednesday night if we don’t have Van Eyk against their front court it will be an uphill battle. Sure we can win but we probably we will be about an 8 point underdog. Also I’m the only one so far who admitted my goal is to win the regular season, and that will require us to run the table, we did it last year, so it’s possible, but I think we really need to have Van Eyk, which if I had to bet I say I think he’s back Wednesday. As I’ve said before I can be overly positive and overly negative, yes I lean towards negative but I think you need to not forget the ridiculous optimistic posts I can sometimes make, such as the potential to have Cluess back in Albany for our post pig Ncaa rematch against Duke.

It’s my understanding that Dutch’s injury is not serious. Don’t know timing of his return however... A separated shoulder will begin feeling better immediately after it's popped back in. The soft tissue damage might range from stretched ligaments to a labrum tear that depending on the severity may require surgical repair. Unfortunately, often times when a shoulder separates there's a tendency for the separation to happen again. Hopefully, the damage is minimal and he can play heavily taped and surgery can be avoided. Imagine they'll do an MRI and time will tell.

He came back to the bench with arm in a sling and shoulder appeared to be iced He was screaming in pain and I expected to see a compound fracture when he rolled over, I think the look of the fall and his screams made everyone very scared. My guess is his shoulder popped out and that hurt like hell, the ice only on the shoulder definitely meant he didn’t do any damage to his arm, now we can just hope his shoulder has no excessive damage. It’s possible he’s back next game it’s possible he’s out all year.

If the teammates had strong emotional reactions to Van Eyck's injury, this may be a better group than some had thought. Of course the health of the player is most important. Seems like, maybe, this team has become a team. Teammates respect the hustle put forth like Van Eyck.

Yes I know, I have actually tried to be more positive with my posts and I realize I can make some very negative posts, but the first half reminded me of just how bad this team had been early in the year. But overall the change this team has made in 2 weeks is truly amazing, for me to even be thinking of first place never mind a first round bye is unfathomable. We have been so lucky with the success this program has had, yet I still have that empty feeling of no ncaa wins that I can’t let go. That is really all that will satisfy my Iona fandom. But as for this year, It’s very good to have hope again, and I would sign for another first round ncaa loss, and it that case we would finally get an ncaa win, though I admit a pig win won’t fully satisfy me.
