And here we go with the posts 3 hours after the game. I can make fun of myself. Idiot
I'll run home to make you happy, your quote would be wrong anytime, unbunch your panties.
Lol..the weight on your shoulders of being perfect must be enormous. Not going to ruin the thread of a great game and win. You really need help, nothing but a miserable Bastard. Have a great night.

Yep someone else corrected u and I'm the one to blame
I thought this was a really good win, down 3 guys and survived, good energy from Ben,and we found a way!I think we have a solid shot at winning the next 4,we have 6 days rest and hope we get healthier, would be great on final day to have St Peters with something on the line,we will beat them for fun IMO.
Iona never wins games like that but somehow Rider missed the layup and the tip in.
Ross with a major onions 3. Ending was very similar to SPU game, except they missed at the end.
Nice to see Perez contribute, we can use last year Perez.
The last several games the reffing has just been atrocious. Perez had his shirt pulled on a break away and no call. Washington tackled the rider guy in one of the last plays and no foul call, just horrible reffing, feel like they just randomly make calls with no rhyme or reason.
Iona has moved into 5th, win 3 out of 4 and pig will definitely be avoided. Get some bodies back and we have as good of a shot as any.
Nice to honor the 80 team but the way they just role called the team players was poorly done and no video or shot at all from the Louisville game, just random pictures of the players in other games.
Joebird, while I do agree with you, at the post game reception at the La Penta Atrium there was a video of the entire game on a big screen. Would have been nice to show the last couple of minutes of the game during the half time festivities.
So now we are 8-8 and currently in sole possession of 5th place in the MAAC. Rider is just one game ahead of us and if we end up the season tied in wins with them, our two victories over them give us the seeding edge. Sadly, we have lost three games by one point so far this season (St. Peter's, Niagara and Siena). Had we won those, we'd be alone in first place. But having won 5 of our last 6 games, if Gist and Van Eyck get healthy, I now think the Gaels can rise to the top once again in the MAAC tourney. The Drive for Five is still Alive! Go Gaels!
Maybe it's a contagious condition spread from the NFL refs and MLB umpires, but I can never remember the officiating being so bad.
Obvious calls directly in sight missed, phantom whistles where no foul was apparent... just atrocious for both teams.
Nice to finally finish on the plus side of a close one. I really thought (Mark) Murphy's Law would come into play once again at the buzzer.
Hats off to Coach Arnold and staff to orchestrate those last few minutes. Our free throw defense was masterful.
Glenn Vickers spoke eloquently at the post game how he chose Iona over numerous high-majors and credited former President, Driscoll as the visionary who launched Iona basketball.
Takeaways: 1. First and foremost, I'm pretty impressed with how Coach Arnold is able to adapt. For example, when we lost the SPU game, with Banks getting a rebound and starting up court for his game winning layup, he was already past the two Iona players, who were on the foul line. Subsequently, in similar situations, we've removed all players from the foul line and have them back on defense. In Wednesday's game, Burns beat Risto and was fouled, which turned out to be the game winner. Last night, we went offense/defense with Thiam and Risto. To me, that's good coaching. 2. Despite struggling from the foul line (0-2, including the front end of a one and one), I liked Ben's performance. He played with a lot of energy. In 27 minutes he had five points, three assists, no TO's, three blocks and three steals. Hope he keeps continuing to play with high energy. 3. Agee had eight TO's and I guess that's what we're going to have to live with. What he should be doing, after a bad play is to RUN HARD and get back on defense. No excuse for lack of hustle. He does bring a lot to the table in terms of talent. 4. IW had six assists and one TO. He was able to find the open man, we just didn't hit the shots. IMO, should have had double digit assists. No doubt that he's a force to be reckoned with in the League, both offensively and defensively. 5. Ross shot 50% from deep, I'd like to see him with more attempts. 6. Refs might have won us the game, when they didn't "T" up EJ, after he slammed the ball on the court, late in the game. 7. A win is a win, is a win.

Guys played hard, even though obviously fatigued from the schedule and the lack of depth over the last four games. Having said that we were lucky to escape with a W, imo. Rider's poor FT shooting and a couple of good bounces off the rim on the last shot saved us. I like that this team plays hard for the most part. Some poor decision making down the stretch imo could have de-railed us, but I think that came from guys caring and trying to do too much rather than just being bone-headed. Once again, as in years past, the leaders on the team need to step up and be leaders, but part of being a leader is to trust the guys you lead to do their job as well. You have to know when to assert yourself and when to trust your teammates. I could see EJ, Agee, and IW all saying to themselves "I have to make something happen here," but the guy who made the big play was Ross. Ben also with his hustle made some big plays. Ross, Ben, Risto all can make a big shot. When van Eyck gets back he can make a big play/shot. Have to use good judgment down the stretch.
We just faced the two best frontcourts in the MAAC without Van Eyck, and played them dead even (1 point loss at Siena, 1 point win vs Rider). He is the difference maker. Hoping he's getting healthy over these next few days.
The greatest poster in the history of the MAAC as determined by THREE separate polls.

If it feels like you’re forcing something, you probably are. Look for another option unless time is running out on the shot or game clock.
