Path to 4th place is now paved for us. Just win baby! Go Gaels! Mentioned a while ago that 2 Monmouth losses would hurt. They close out at Rider and finish at home against Manhattan, Fairfield, Siena.

Monmouth will probably finish second or third, and have to play Siena in the semi's. We'll probably finish fourth and have SPU in the semi's.

Unlikely, but what if a 3 way tie with Rider and Monmouth? We'd be 2-2 in that mini conf. But what's happened with the other 2 teams' meetings?

Ok. So we'd need a complete collapse from one of the top 3 for us to get to 3. Incredibly unlikely. Needed Monmouth to stumble today to have any real hope.
Agree that we just need to get to 3-1 to secure a bye.

I, like everybody here, wants us to win out, but I, also, don't want us to finish 2-3. I consider Monmouth/Siena to be the tougher bracket and would rather not play them until the finals.

Here we go again. Like every other year,it doesn't matter who we play or when. Repeating myself from last year, there is one team that the fans from the 10 other teams want to avoid. That would be us.

I like our chances against Siena and SPU. Would prefer to avoid Monmouth and Rider if possible.
4/5 matchup against Manhattan with Siena waiting for us in the semifinals does not scare me.

Absolutely agree. Extra game is no good.

This is where Greg is right (!!!!) in that you can make a case for or against any potential foe: St Peter's is the deepest team and plays the best defense, but they are very young and may not be up for the moment. Siena probably has the best trio of players in the league and is the best offensive team, but they have not proven to be particularly strong away from home. They have beaten us twice, but once was without Van Eyck and if you subscribe to the sweep theory you're confident in the third meeting. Monmouth has beaten us twice and has probably the best player in the league with the game on the line in Salnave. But see above re sweep theory, and also their wins over us came before we were playing well. Rider has very good talent, but can't make free throws and never advances in the tournament. However, they've lost to us twice already, and see above re sweep theory--the flip side of it this time. I won't include all the other teams, but we can play this same pro-con game with them too. At the end of the day, destiny is what it is.
