Can't recall a team that had missed rebounds at the free throw line impact their season as much as this year's Iona team.
Crawford and Ross don't box out Banks who goes coast to coast for the win. Thiam loses the rebound against Siena in a tie game with about a minute remaining, one point loss Agee loses the rebound with Iona up 80-76 with 20 seconds remaining which leads to a Hammond three and the terrible finish.
What a frustrating season.

Great job Arnold. Taking IW out. Trapping Niagara players toleave their hot 3 point shooter wide open. Crazy defensive scheme, Not fouling Niagara with 3 seconds left in the backcourt...should I continue?? I agree

Agreed. Going back to the Siena game where Arnold called the quirky timeout before the players foul shots with 5 secs to go instead of preserving in the event of a miss. I hope and pray poor coaching decisions do not determine our fate in the tourney. It probably doesn't matter. Right now Iona is in the PIG, and will be difficult to get into the top 5 because of the tiebreakers that will likely be involved. Win both Siena home vs Niagara Jaspers go 2-1

Win both Siena home vs Niagara Jaspers go 2-1 Well at least there's a path. Let's see if Manhattan can win at least one of two on the road at Monmouth and Rider, and of course winning the last game at home against Fairfield. Can't believe I have to root for Siena Wednesday night.

Iona is 1-4 in games decided by one point this season. It is 0-3 in overtime. Saturday was the Maroon & Gold's first overtime game since December 17 against Princeton. Coaching matters
In which game did Mo fumble a defensive rebound in the last minute? Siena? Agee had a critical one yesterday in the last minute.

The collapse is on the entire staff and the players. If there is no coach on the staff or any players on the court who did not know to foul in that situation, we have bigger problems than I thought.

Looking at the "box":
1. Crawford 18 shots = 25 points. 2. Agee 19 shots = 28 points. 3. Ross 9 shots = 19 points.
How about more FG attempts for Ross?

I know I complain a lot about turnovers, but does anyone know who holds the dubious Iona record for a single season? Or for a career? I ask this because maybe I'm making too much of this stat.

What might have been. Hammond misses the "three" and we all would have been raving about Van Eyck's clutch foul shooting with 5.8 seconds left to put us up three. And how we had saved a timeout to set up our no foul strategy at the end of the game. Our coach has really come along. At least that is how it worked in my dream, last night.

I also dreamt about it but mine was a nightmare. We could have fouled with five seconds left. Canisius makes the first free throw, misses the second and gets the rebound and scores. Gets fouled in the process and the FT wins the game in regulation. Then we all talk about how stupid we were fouling with five seconds left. All we can do is pull up our socks, start again and win out. I know this is what EJ and the rest of the team will be planning on.

Just watch the replay of the MAAC final against Monmouth if you need evidence. The kid is not afraid of the big stage and I consider him a clutch player.

That's like saying when the Giants rush for a 100 yards they win so rush more, there is a reason u can run for a 100 yds same thing ross shoots good when he is open

How's the chemistry without him and his father , no more fighting with the coach and amongst players
