Very similar to the Notre Dame plan that was announced.
Also interesting that they state “we are not retrenching”. A nice sign of confidence.

Just heard ( student at Iona) that Iona is starting classes early August 10th and ending first semester at thanksgiving. Good news for a basketball season. Not really. They are doing this with the fear the virus will hit during thanksgiving... Scheduling 2 months to stay home not a good sign

Meaning NO sports. This is a good sign. Now they can have sports if they choose.

They don’t want the semester interrupted again. Exactly. I dont think its a bad sign. Just being prepared for the worst. School doesnt want to take another chance at a financial hit. The more classes that get shifted to online (when supposed to be in class rooms), the more people will want their money back, at least in partial.

They're doing the shift because of the expected return of the virus--the difference is that we "know" the virus is coming and things will be in place so that life will not be as disruptive. I'm not going to guarantee it or anything, but I would be surprised if we see no fall or winter sports.

Sports will likely be in place, but I have serious reservations about full house fans in the stands.

Westchester County scheduled to move into Phase IV tomorrow; this phase allows colleges and universities to reopen.
Will the “official” introduction of our new coach to the media be just around the corner?

1. Football will reign. 2. Assumptions about virus status are negligible/inconclusive.
Uncharted territories, dependent upon student return experience.
