This is not looking good for MAAC sports.
While New York and neighboring states have done a good job on managing the pandemic. On a national level, the virus is penetrating the population at three times the levels being experienced back in the Spring when sports were shut down.
Iona and all New York schools should tear up the schedule and play only in state colleges under NY covid parameters. New Jersey do the same, and ditto Connecticut. Never happen, but what the hell! Thought I would throw it out there.

I've been doubtful about the season from the beginning. Rose Bowl parade just canceled. We'll see how the various pro leagues manage the next month. That will be instructive. Unbelievable situation-not just for sports.

The league might have a chance for conference games only.

We don’t have this under control. No national response. None. Nada.

You don't need a national response. You need rational governors like those in New York and New Jersey. And you need intelligent citizens who respect each other, wear masks and keep social distancing. This doesn't have to be complicated and it certainly shouldn't be political fodder unless life doesn't really matter.

You have 50 States - essentially with the same issue - working on 50 different ways of handling it. Chaos. Remember when the states were all bidding against each other for PPE and ventilators driving the prices up? Moronic. No Federal leadership whatsoever. If everyone was on the same page back in March then the country would be coming out of the Covid now like the European models. And possibly the ooc schedule would be doable.

It would have taken balls for Federal leadership to step up and call that shot though. But the Prez decided it wasn't his "responsibility".

Jets and Giants announced today that they will be playing this season without allowing any fans. There was hope that they would possibly limit attendance to a lower percentage, it not even that. Have to believe that will lead to no fans allowed for MAAC basketball games.
Really feel bad for guys like Ross, Cashaw and Van Eyck. Came to Iona to play for Cluess and unfortunately Cluesa misses season and retires. Yeah, get to be coached by Pitino but likely without fans in attendance and possibly only conference games.
