Arnold has made plenty of mistake this year. Don’t think this one falls on him tho. Unless you expect him to suit up and get after on the defensive glass. That’s where the game was decided. No bench is killing us. Guys are exhausted at the end of the games and I even see guys trying to conserve energy early in the game knowing they will need it at the end. (Bad idea IMO). We need to get red hot from 3 in AC to have any chance. I’d say defense would be most important but it’s unrealistic to expect the team to defend at a high level for 4 games. Possibly.. if it wasnt for this stat: SPU turnovers 7 Iona turnover 21 No doubt turnovers were a big reason Iona lost (and some of those TO we absolutely awful i.e Agee getting stripped at the top of the key) St. Peter’s took 18 more shots than Iona. Hard to win.

Iona's chances in the tournament are poor, but there's still a chance. This season was considered, by many, a write-off because of the Cluess illness. Expectations were low. I'm not down on this team regardless of what happens in AC. Hope for the best. I will back whichever team is the MAAC's representative, even if it's Siena

I’m sick of all this Jelly Nation crap. Mr. Basketball NYS really? Savior of the program. Steal from a high major. The guy is a street baller. Maybe TC can get him under control. St. Peter’s guards are much better college players. JMO. This is ridiculous, he has been one of our better players since January. And anyone who wants Cashaw to play, 3 words he can’t score! He did well in giving us minutes when iw had 4 but that is really all we can expect from him. This team can not win a close game. If we beat Canisius I actually expect us to beat St. Peter’s, but I think it ends there. Rider over Siena in the final.

How are we criticizing Jelly!? That guy is the best all around player on the team by far. Ridiculous to point blame at him IMO.

I was referring to the overall criticism of Jelly as a street ball player and being overhyped as opposed to his one-off performance tonight. You don’t get triple doubles as a street player. He is a great MAAC level PG IMO.

Lots of hot takes out here.
Season's been a throwaway since October. Griffs are playing a LOT better lately, and sweep theory is in play. Feels like the season's gonna end Tuesday.

Jelly’s problem is his ego. Holloway put pressure on him from the start of the game and set out to frustrate him knowing he’d hold on to the ball too long and try to force the action rather than pass and screen. It worked perfectly. Ross is out best three point threat and he hardly saw the ball. Best overall player all year WTF are you guys watching. Did you happen to notice Crawford. Without him we’re 0-20 in the league.

How are we criticizing Jelly!? That guy is the best all around player on the team by far. Ridiculous to point blame at him IMO. In the chat room, I can’t tell you how many times I said “Jelly is way too lazy with the ball”. Thus the bloated number of unforced turnovers. I’m a fan of Jelly. I think he’s one of the best rebounders (as a guard) we have had in recent years. Also, he seemed more confident with his outside shot a few games back. When he’s on, he is very helpful with his assists.

Iona needs Jelly to be successful, for sure, but they almost won tonight despite him. He was completely selfish today and cost the team the game IMO. SPU just exposed his lack of composure tonight. He never should have come back into the game after Cashaw calmed everything down.. but Arnold..
Ironicly if Iona beats Canisius they get SPU again.

The game tonight was so lopsided by -points in the paint/ offensive rebounds/ turnovers.

Jelly picked the wrong time to have a bad game, but he will be the 2nd best PG in the MAAC next year. It's not a coincidence Iona showed signs of life and went on their streak when jelly took over the PG spot and Van Eyck was put into the starting 5.
