My big takeaway from this audio: How can someone speak for so long and so fast? No issue with what he said other than that much of it was contradictory. At one point he says Pitino will possibly be gone after two seasons and in the next breath (he actually never took a breath) he says Pitino can have Iona in the Sweet Sixteen within three years. No actual insight, just a blowhard.

The one, and only time, I met Rick Pitino was about six or seven years ago, at Saratoga. I've been a long time visitor, with friends from work, to the Spa going back to the eighties. Unfortunately, my trips upstate ended a few years back, as too many of the guys have died. But, in a post race tradition we ended up at the watering hole across from the track (name of the place escapes me, but it's pretty famous). And the son of one of my friends had just played in the Rick Pitino fundraising golf outing and introduced us to RP. My question is does he still hold the golf outing at Saratoga?

Light bulb came on: Siro's was the restaurant, with the outdoor cocktail party across the street from the Saratoga racetrack.

jerseygael, I think so, because I remember a few guys who seemed unhappy with my tips, telling one another, "that I must be an Iona grad". Of course my idea of a tip was to tell people to bet the #6 horse in the next race.

ic59, did you get a chance to tip any of the Siena players! The only tips the Siena players give are to cows.

I do remember a Tom Whelan (not sure about spelling) who wrote for the Journal News.
