In the recent pre-season, Coach P felt he had the best guards in the NE. Wonder how he feels about next year's guards?
With the development of Ryan Meyers, the continuing elevation of Jean Louis, and our additions (both frosh and experience); this team is looking more like the Baylor model than the Gonzaga one.

Not the Siena model?
The Sienna D is going to get stretched far trying to guard these guys. Nelly may be renamed DUNKIN DONUTS. So they and the rest of the MAAC can be competitive, perhaps the Iona staff can now turn to getting talent into the MAAC. "Go to Sienna, you get to play Iona twice a year."
That is such a fun fan base. Comical how they are trying to downplay the recruitment of Jolly, and how he's just a 24 year old man. I guess they forget this past season they had a 25 year old, Harrison Curry who stunk and a 24 year old next season in Nick Hopkins.
I am really trying to be nice on twitter, but I feel a tirade on my part headed their way soon,,,lol
Is Rick Pitino still coaching the Greek Olympic team? And, if so, I guess he has to be in Greece in order to get his team ready for the games. If that is the case then I wouldn't think that we could travel to Canada to play some games, as ctbill suggested. Now, if RP is NOT coaching the Greek team, then bill's suggestion makes sense, at least financially.
Guy, thanks. I guess that he has to get to Greece, or a designated (less of a Covid threat) location, in order to work out the team. In total we (Iona) probably have to do without his services for about a month this summer. Is that a reasonable assessment? Of course, if he is able to bring along his Iona team to Greece, that would eat into his time away from Iona.

If he can't bring the team to Greece, but he has to go and can do so somehow, don't see why the staff can't bring the team to Canada for a few games and get them playing together, reporting into Pitino every day with assessments.

Do you understand what's going on in Canada right now?

Yes, I've been dealing with it personally since August of last year. I'm assuming things start to open up there by August. My son heads back up in early July. Otherwise, you're right, it would be the same problem as Greece.
