Morgan State at home per Rothstein Like I said last month old guys who just wanted home games would be happy, others who wanted a good schedule would not be happy

Would I like a couple of home games a bit better than Loyola and Morgan State? Absolutely. But let's be a little realistic. Have to think it's not easy to get teams to come play in New Rochelle with the still uncertainty of the situation with the Virus. From a business and basketball point of view, I rather have a few home games against LM programs than traveling to HM programs, at least for this season. Again being realistic, Pitino and staff have not even met any of the players yet. Very good chance there will not be any summer practices. Very likely the first time the team will come together and practice will be September. That's Pitino coaching his own system and trying to get 8 new players mesh with 5 returning players. Very small chance the program will be in a place to go on the road and be competitive against HM programs.
The schedule has some good games so far, @usf, Harvard and the Bahamas tournament appears to have some decent MM teams, with still a couple more neutral site games to be announced. I have no problem using the OOC schedule to replace the missed summer workouts and develop the team. The schedule should be used to develop the team prepping for hopefully a MAAC championship and not to schedule a bunch of HM programs so the fan base can brag about a great schedule.

Agree with above sentiments, we heard for years we weren't getting any home games and now we have 3. I don't have the energy to look up when the last time we hosted 3 OOC opponents was, but it wasn't THAT recent.
I'm fine with the move. Iona needs a good OOC to get the Pitino era off to a good start, and jacking up the schedule year 1 isn't the way to do it.

One positive note in regards to Loyola and Morgan St. , The return games next year should both be done on the same trip. I believe both schools are in the Baltimore area.
