Good game. Albany is by far, the Maac's most often scheduled non-conference opponent. I read on one of the other board's that the Maac has allowed the scheduling of one non-division 1 game per season. With a 20 game conference schedule, i dont think scheduling non d1's is a good idea. Agreed. I believe the Bahamas tournament is 3 games, so there is 1 more game to be scheduled. Hopefully on the road against a HM program or very good MM Albany is home the other game you will like but not a major

Obviously additional games is a big plus but the lack of competition is slightly concerning. Granted, I wasn't expecting anything major until RP's 2nd season.

New coach, new system and 9 new players without having the usual summer workouts. This schedule is fine for this season. Harvard should be pretty good, USF on road is a tough game. Another solid game on the road to be added. I believe Albany returns most of their roster. Hopefully at least 1 or 2 solid MM programs in Bahamas, though previous posts from I70 make me doubt that. Stony Brook would have been a very good game until they lost 3 players to HM programs and a couple other rotation kids. This Iona team isn't ready to take on a crazy schedule loaded with HM programs.

Agree. Pitino talked about big games, but it wasn't going to happen right away. Oklahoma St at MSG was set but they bailed.
Next year's schedule will feature more big-name opponents. I'm fine with our current schedule.

To get such a late start and end up with 30 or 31 games and four home OOC games along with a Thanksgiving tournament has certainly exceeded my expectations. And now you throw in a Garden game as well. I know we shouldn't count our chickens before they're hatched, but next (21-22) year's schedule will be off the charts. JMO.

My problem, while a student at Iona, was that I always had teachers like 15 and joebird, and ended up with a lot of C's. Most of my friends had teachers like sharkey and Guy and they got a lot of A's. It's not fair.

He's not going to play guarantee games and he won't even schedule 2 for 1s with majors with our 1 at MSG. So I am not shocked this year's schedule didn't get any majors. But next year's will.

Did a Twitter search and all 3 games are listed there on 12/19. Wondering if the Gotham Classic is in the afternoon and the Virginia-Nova game is part of something else in the evening.
