Combining the twitter feedback with the response here, it's actually been a pretty equal split among the main categories. So I'll just press on and secure guests of all kinds, though I kinda know who I'd like to go with first. Stay tuned, and thanks for the suggestions.

Zach Braziller or Adam Zagoria or someone that covers college basketball recruiting to get their perspective on our incoming players Not a fan of Braziller as he consistently takes shots at Iona. He a St. John's shill.

Brazilier is a St Johns shill because there are far more St Johns fans in the readership area than anyone else. But make no mistake, he knows Pitino drives traffic and if Iona starts winning, you'll see him more involved with us. He and I have known each other for a few years now.

Guy sorry if I missed this somewhere, but what is the frequency of the podcast episodes? Assuming it is 2X/mo I would rotate the type of guests — e.g. media personalities, throwback players and coaches, community and board influencers, etc.

Assuming it is 2X/mo I would rotate the type of guests — e.g. media personalities, throwback players and coaches, community and board influencers, etc. It'll likely be twice a month during the offseason and then weekly during the season. But it'll really be determined by interest and my own schedule. Yes, of course we'll have a mix of different types of guests. The poll was for the first guest, as I felt it should be someone special (but not controversial) to kick things off. I have someone in mind. Posters on this board will not be guests. This is the forum for posters to share thoughts. The podcast will provide a forum for those who can't or won't post here, such as former players/coaches, media members, recruiting experts, and, down the line, Iona staff/admin. Remember that this podcast isn't just to entertain the x number of regulars out here, it's to expand the footprint. As I said, featuring posters that no one knows outside of the people who frequent this board simply doesn't serve much purpose.

My suggestion is Seamus Carey. If he helped to bring in Pitino he seems a natural if he would do it. Imagine he has a lot going on.

A former player that I would love to hear from, although he probably couldn't be expected to know much about the current Gaels, but you never know. And that player is Tariq Kirksay. A great personality who I believe has had a great European career.

Couple updates:
1. Still navigating issues with my back, so I'm not certain when this is going to be up and running just yet. But, well, we have nothing but time, so...
2. The goal of this podcast is to expand the Iona footprint. With this in mind, I do not want to litter the podcast with countless former players/coaches from decades ago--this podcast needs to look ahead, not behind. I'm not saying I won't have ANYONE from the past, I'm just saying that for what this is meant to do, lining up guests that will only appease a handful of diehards isn't going to get it done.

Agree Guy. The other thing is do you want this to be regional or national? Obviously your first audience will be us, but just curious as to how you want to market this.

I think you should try and get the guy who taught all these recruits to say, “blessed to receive an offer from...”
He’s gotta be a key recruiting guru. No?

Probably a bit of both, depending on how it grows. Whole project is going to get delayed, as I just learned I'm going to have back surgery.
