Received their NOA from NCAA today. Will be releasing a statement shortly and expecting a press conference at some point today. Coach Pitino is mentioned as being accused of a level 2 violation, though I have no idea what that ex's toy means.

A Level II allegation that the former head men’s basketball coach did not satisfy his head coach responsibility when he failed to promote an atmosphere of compliance.

www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/29132861/louisville-hit-ncaa-notice-allegations"Federal prosecutor Ted Diskant showed the jury text messages between Bowen Sr. and Pitino on May 24, 2017, with Bowen Sr. asking Pitino to talk to his son. The government also played a voicemail Gatto left for Pitino on May 27, 2017.""I just got a call about a player I want to discuss with you," Gatto said" "In an interview with ESPN in 2017, Pitino reiterated that he had "no knowledge" of any payment to Bowen's family, citing a lie detector test that he took in October of that year. Pitino said of Bowen: "He fell into our lap in recruiting. Obviously, now with the circumstances behind it, there's more to it than meets the eye. But I believe Brian Bowen chose the University of Louisville because he loved the visit, he loved his future teammates and he wanted to play for me. I don't think he's involved in this in any way. Now, am I being naive? I don't know. I just believe in that young man."

I'm glad the board isn't freaking out about all this. Kudos to you all.
This was a BRILLIANT hire. Pitino will at MOST get suspended for 15 games--at MOST--and that won't happen until 2021-22, by the time the full process plays out. And with all this going on, you guys can stop worrying about bigger schools rushing in to take him from us. We will have him for at LEAST 3 years, if not the full five. Again--BRILLIANT hire.

Well if I understand the reports, tgere wasn't any evidence linking Pitino to any involvement of paying Bowen, or he would have been hit with a level 1 allegation. The consensus, from writers that dislike Pitino, is the worst possible punishment would be a out a 15 game suspension at the start of the 21-22 season. Likely less. Not really concerned

NCAA has ways of handling lesser violations other than game suspensions. They might require a coach to stay away from all athletic participation for, let's say, 30 or 60 days.

Not sure i understand why this is a suprise to some on Twitter. Iona and everyone else knew there was still a possible lagging punishment. It was speculated that a ~ 5 game suspension was possible.
This is nothing new.

Probation is also possible since he was forced out of college ball for more than two year.
