Sharkey were you aware of him or is this the first time we heard his name? I don't recall him as one of the players that was on our radar.

Seems like another weird one. Looks like he just committed to Denver in April. Or am I misreading this?

Knew the staff was tracking him, but never saw or heard any reports that he was offered to be honest. This brings Iona up to 15. Will be interesting to see what 2 kids are leaving and/or not coming. Rowe had some nice MM offers. Only tape I saw so far was on his VC page. Looks pretty athletic and his 3pt shot looks solid, but again it's a highlight tape

Didn't realize he was a 2020 recruit. I hope we find out soon which two are leaving or not coming.

The spring academic period is wrapping up. The players who will be departing should be known soon, I'd think.

Any idea about Rowe's HS stats? Seems that if you want to play for RP you better be at least 6'4.

From Zagoria: www.zagsblog.com/2020/05/21/iona-adds-omar-rowe-loses-isaiah-washington/“I chose Iona because I’m playing for a legendary coach, Rick Pitino, who can help me get better and also help me with my dreams of pursuing a career in the NBA,” Rowe said. “Not only that but the fact that I’ll be able to play in front of my hometown and family and put Iona back on the map to be a high contender for the NCAA Championship. Hopefully winning the National Championship.” Rowe had offers from UAB, Towson, Mercer, Hofstra, Charleston Southern, Denver, Norfolk State, Montana State and Georgia State. “He has the potential to be a key contributor on a winning team and could turn out to be a cornerstone of Rick Pitino’s first recruiting class,” Believe Academy coach Kevin Jackson said. “He’s a long athletic wing who can knock it down from deep and continue that old school grittiness/mentality of Iona while doing it with a coachable spirit.”
