Re the Twitter Space above--did anyone give it a listen? I don't even think you need to be registered on Twitter to listen, but I'm not sure. And actually, that's a question I have: I know not everyone here is on twitter--can someone who ISN'T try to connect to/listen to the Twitter Space above and let me know if it lets you do it, or if it's trying to make you register?
Asking because as I start to think about next hoops season, I'm thinking of doing one of these somewhat regularly, maybe after each Iona home game or something. So, a Friday night game goes from 7-9, the press conferences follow, and then maybe we'd do a half-hour space from 10-10:30--which I know is late for some folks, but many people come from a distance and they'd be up anyway or catching up with the message board at 10 pm, so it's not terrible. Share some thoughts here if you have any! I know some folks like Sharkey are 100% onboard LOL. But I'd be curious if you guys think it's "worth it", if you will, to consider this. Thanks.

I was able to access it-but did not listen--1 hour 51 minutes.
I like your idea of a post-game "event." Many years ago (late 70s) there was a great radio show after games (including some away games) with a Q&A opportunity.

A twitter spaces after home games is a great idea. Iona hoops has developed a group of recent alumni that are very active on Twitter, who are all in on Tobin and staff. At least a couple were either scholarship athletes at Iona and/or part of the basketball program. Believe some might be board members, couple joining soon. Will let them introduce themselves.
Point is, that Guy is playing a major role in helping build a younger and enthusiastic fan base between his podcast, Twitter account and message board. post-game Twitter spaces will not only be a good listen for Iona fans, but will also continue building the fan base.
No doubt Tobin and staff will be on campus connecting with the students to build up their interest in the program and attend the games.
Good times ahead

If you want to listen to just the MAAC portion, you can probably stop after the first hour. I forgot about it actually and didnt join until about a half hour in LOL The Twitter Spaces works that way. I would be the host, and everyone can call in and either listen or request to speak. I should have mentioned that earlier--people can literally just come on as a listener, as I know not everyone has a big mouth like I do. But yes, to your point, I would be like a radio show host, taking callers etc.

I don't like younger fans. Well that eliminates 99.9% of all Iona fandom.

I am not on twitter and clicked on the link. I saw that the broadcast was almost 2 hours. I clicked to listen and nothing happened. I think they wanted me to download the app, which I did not do.
Go Gaels!!!

Go Gaels!!! Hmmm. Interesting. Wonder if you can bypass that, even on your phone. For those who were stopped in their tracks by the time frame, only the first hour or so is worth your time.

I used to call into it all the time. Never participated in any Twitter space groups but I know people who belong to a NY Knicks group and love it. I think it would be a great idea.
