I am not usually one to make predictions, but why not on a rainy Sunday.
As far as the MAAC, there is only one tean that can possibly challenge Iona. Don't care what the other teams add recruiting wise, Iona will roll over them.
That one team is Monmouth. They added a HM PG in Shavar Reynolds who matches Joiner and Jolly. They have to add some pieces yet, but it's likely they add a few. There is thought Malik Martin might return despite higher level offers since Reynolds is his cousin. Monmouth also has 3 wildcards that still could return. George Papas, Deion Hammond and Ray Salnave. Not sure if Hammond has decided has turning pro or not. Monmouth gets 2 out of thosev3 back and adds a transfer big and they will be a challenge. Might sound like it's asking a lot for Rice to recruit but they are close with all of them. Let's see if Rice can pull it off.
As far as OOC, No opinion. Let's see if Pitino has to deal with any type of small suspension 1st

As we all know, or should know, is that the Board is better, or at least more active, when we have different opinions. I, also, spend a lot of time on an Arizona Cardinals FB board. There, you are encouraged to disagree with opinions of others, but are not allowed to denigrate the other guy. Since we, as far as I know, are all Iona fans, we shouldn't be attacking the other guy. But from experience, I know it's hard NOT to respond to a personal attack. If you want to do that visit the MAAC Board. JMO. Sorry ic59, am deleting my account on the MAAC board, so will need the Iona board to do my attacking!! Sharkey, did u delete your maac account? Your knowledge of recruiting is tops. Loss for the board.

Yes... but so was Isaiah Williams. With Covid these kids were not showcased via AAU in the same way they have been in the past so he did not get the bump in rankings that he deserved. It the same thing with Wright ... plus Wright missed his senior year of high school, I am sure he would have earned his 4th star in any other year. Use the star ratings as a guide but remember that many of their ratings could have been awarded as sophomores and junior years. A player could have been one of those guys that developed early but never improved or they could be a late bloomer. The best indicator, IMHO, of a player's skill level is the offers that they have received in the last 18 months or so.

The best indicator!! 100% spot on the entire post, real good players can slip through the cracks because of the last year!! The stars are so much less this year!

Christian Wright is going to be a star. IF he doesn't get injured he is playing at a HM. He was offered by USC a couple weeks before committing to Iona. He will be preseason ROY

The best indicator, IMHO, of a player's skill level is the offers that they have received in the last 18 months or so. Totally agree the level of offers is generally the best barometer, but then you have exceptions like AJ English who blow that measure out of the water. These star ratings I take with a grain of salt. There are loads of highly rated kids riding the bench at high-major schools that would be very average at the mid-major level. Conversely, there are a good number of mid and low-major starters that would be competitive players at the high-major level. It would be interesting if someone could figure out a way to do a post-mortem on the accuracy of these player star ratings.

We had two recent 4 Star players that didn't pan out. I forget their names, but one went on to Pitt and the other came from St. John's. So being a 4 star, while interesting, doesn't guarantee success.
