If anyone is in contact with Brian Beyrer or Rick Pitino, I would love to see videos from both the Men's and Women's teams practices. A few weeks back I sent an e-mail to Brian, but didn't hear back. And I'm not sure if I had his correct address. We still have almost a month before the first game, and speaking for myself, I need an Iona BB fix. Also, it would give fans a chance to put a face to a name. Thanks.

My understanding is that there are some things at work behind the scenes in terms of documenting practices/life with Pitino, which is why there's been an intentional effort to NOT post a bunch of practice content. I also think there's a bit of gamesmanship here--outside of Gist, Ross and Van Eyck, NO ONE has any clue what our team looks like right now. Whereas we pretty much know what most teams in the MAAC are going to look like this coming season because they return not only core pieces but their systems are still in place, NO ONE will have a clue what to expect out of us until we step out on the floor vs Fordham.

Guy, thanks. Unfortunately, the only team hurt by that strategy is Fordham. Unless that game isn't televised. And I'm not greedy, so I'm also interested in the Iona Women's team. Also, realize that next Thursday is the MAAC Coaches show, which might have been taped, already.

I just read Kevin Sweeney's MAAC preview and realize that there are a ton of newbies in the MAAC. Have no idea on the League's rankings, other than Siena. And even Siena, who should be VG, have a lot of new players. Should be a fun year.

Guy, in other years that would be the case. This year, that's all we'll get. And the advantage of having a HOF coach, is that he knows that. So, I'm guessing that early in the season, he'll change game plans from game to game. JMO

greg, I'm sure (make that pretty sure) that I'm not the only Iona fan on this Board who took a Goal Club sponsored bus trip to Boston in order to watch the Gaels take on Boston University. Due to his grandmother's illness, Steve Burtt didn't make the trip. But Tony Hargraves stepped up and the Gaels won, 77-68. The year was 1982. And BU was coached by, Rick Pitino. Rick got revenge in '96, when Kentucky (my memory fails me at times, but I believe RP was the Kentucky coach) beat the Gaels, 105-77 (or something like that) at MSG. So discounting TV, I've seen at least two Rick Pitino coached teams.
P.S. Not really sure what you meant by the question.

I said that one game film vs one opponent isn't enough to base an entire scouting report on, which is true. And your point that Pitino will change game plans from game to game actually agrees with where I was going. How you prepare for Fordham is different from how you prepare for UB, VT and UMass. Pitino's SYSTEM will still be implemented, but adjustments will be made. We will still be a mystery to people when we get to Mohegan.

I was thinking about how other teams will prepare for us. And I have no idea how many new guys are on our first four opponents. If they don't have a ton of new guys we have last year to go by. RP does stress defense, so that should help us early on, even if are slow out of the gate, offensively.

My request was for videos of practice sessions for the Men's and Women's teams. If there is a "Big Deal" intro of RP's team, I'll settle for the Women's team. Give me something.
