What a pleasant surprise, and the season is now only a day away. Consider:
1. What makes this news even better is knowing that there will be another game, next season. Reminds me of the closing scene from Casablanca, "This could be the start of a beautiful friendship". 2. Gotta feel for Asante. A Jersey kid, who misses a game against the best team in Jersey in the Big Arena. 3. Guessing that the line on the game will be north of 15, and I don't hold out much hope to win the game, even with the recent losses by Villanova and Virginia. But I'll come away (probably) with the notion that we'll be a lot better when we get Gist and Shema back. 4. Seton Hall's center Sandro Mamukela (shortened version of his name) is a monster and maybe the best guy we'll go up against this season. he looks like an NBA player, and I think that he'll make us play zone when he's in the game. SH also has the former Canisius star, Molson.
P.S. Iona Women open today at Army (3PM). Good luck to the Ladies.

Another fine podcast, Guy. With all of the Iona folks who ended up at Seton Hall (KW, Tony Bozzella, Lauren DeFalco, Richie Pet and others), I forgot about Kyle Smyth. It's great that Casey is back with the Gaels. He has it in his blood. I remember back in the Rivals days you did a contest of Iona trivia. Team Stanley was tough.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Gaels in action tomorrow night.
Go Gaels!!!

I’m sure Pitino will start 5. No sense playing a player short.

Chavez Ross Jean Louis Van Eyck Brown
Nelly Rowe Koroma Crafoord Myers
So when is the last time Iona's 5 off the bench were all freshmen? Talk about getting thrown right into the fire. great opportunity. Looking forward to see how they handle the pressure of having their 1st game on national TV with tremendous media coverage.

No insight here, just can't remember being so excited to watch a game.

Talk about easy money. Last week FF was a 20 point underdog to Providence and only lost by 41. P.S. Providence was coached by a former FF coach, while SH is coached by a former Iona coach. Like I said easy money.
