Good win for the Gaels. They played hard even though a lot of sloppy plays that will be corrected. Iona was called for a foul everytime they touched the ball and even once when they didn't touch the ball.
Joseph is going to be hard to guard in the MAAC going to create matchup problems. Koroma was not good today, looked very tentative especially around the basket.
Ross brought back memories of Armand!

Need to add since I posted the other day that Van Eyck was gun shy. Today he was terrific. Took the open shot and was aggressive off the ball. Big factor in us winning.

Nice win! Ross, Jean-Louise and Joseph are the non injured Gaels best players. Myers with clutch free throw shooting and Van Eyk with maybe his best offensive career game. Van Eyck was the glue guy today, had a good game. What happened to Cashaw?

Cashaw is hurt. Very solid win over a good Hofstra team picked to win the CAA. Koroma struggled but still had 7 boards and 3 assists. Van Eyck solid. Chavez struggled, doesn't look comfortable yet but he will be fine.
NJJ...14/10/4 with 4 blocks and a steal. Sloppy play at times and missed easy shots but this team is going to be a huge problem in the MAAC with Shema and Gist back. Killed Hofstra on the boards 43-31. The passing by the bigs is better than the guards..lol. Koroma, NJJ, Van Eyck with some really nice passes combining for 10 assists. Can't wait for Tuesday

The full court defense gave Hofstra fits and they didn't let up. Again great effort by the Gaels. I know we all say this but when this team starts playing together more and gets to know each other better plus getting Gist and Shema back they are going to be very tough.

I'll be very surprised if Ross and Junior Joseph aren't this week's MAAC POW and ROW. Of course that's assuming that Siena didn't have any fantastic practice sessions, where guys scored 50 points. RP has to be happy with IR, not only about seven rebounds but also, three assists. And 33 points not too shabby. Question for people who watched the game on TV or listened to it on Hofstra radio. Quality of the broadcasts and impression of the announcers.

Broadcast quality was very good and I thought the announcers were pretty good. They were not over the top homers like on some broadcasts I've heard.

Loved the defense. Ross was lights out, and NJJ and VE played very well. Nice win.

I was impressed with poise they showed when Hofstra made its runs. They never broke. Maintained their focus and intensity.
Myers clutch at line despite an off offensive game overall. JL on the boards, on D and O. NJJ with a double-double.
Hofstra ran out of gas just getting the ball in bounds and up court. Add Gist and Shema into the mix and the potential is wow!
