Having Gist back made a big difference. Looking forward to his hand healing fulling.
Change in opponent helped too.

Fairfield is horrible, no offense but nice to get an easy win anyway.
Amazing how much better Ross is, a Portsmouth worthy player.
Had my doubts of gist as a point guard, but he played the role tonight and I give credit to Pitino for changing him.
Why little Chavez, hopefully Pitino will reveal, in the past we would never know.

Pitino said 3 times in the postgame that tomorrow will be a much tougher game. I was going to ask about Chavez but I got cut off from the chance to ask. Of course.

FF is horrible. Can we not win by 30 tonight and lose by 6 tomorrow! Benning only solid player for FF. Perfect situation for Coach Pitino to experiment with different lineups tomorrow. Hope Robert Brown is okay and I’m looking for players like Koroma and Rowe to contribute. Ross is a beast of burden. Gist looked very comfortable at the point and Dylan did a number of things (taking charges, grabbing boards and making shots) to help the team win. Quiet night from Nelly and Jean Louis. Also, I imagine it’s going to be tough for Myers/Chavez to get minutes based on Gist’s performance tonight. Let’s see if they can repeat the performance tomorrow. No time to experiment We shot 45% and Ross is still our only consistent scorer. Example of no easy game... Bryant won by 20 Tuesday Wednesday was up 12 with 10 minutes left, no way anyone thought at that point they could lose, they lost.

So what's the deal, does 05 start a new thread or we just continue this one?
Were in uncharted territories here.

By experimenting with lineups I was alluding to the same nucleus of 8/9 players but mixing up combinations of that group. Just to see cohesiveness.

Fairfield is 0-5 for a reason, not a good team. Gist, Van Eyck and Ross had good games for us. Gotta get some of the new guys to contribute a little more. Koroma hasnt done much yet, but i have a feeling he will blossom into a very good MAAC player.
