Only 4-21 from 3 (19%)--could have been a major blowout--D played great

Takeaways: Defense was exceptional, Offense was not good, Rider is bad. If 3 ball was falling, that’s a 25 pt win. Need to avoid what happened last weekend in game 2.
Random thoughts: Why did we stop going to Nelly in the second half? He was a force in the first. Seems like the bench is getting shorter unless it’s a strategy and we see some more guys get involved tomorrow.

I was happy to see them sit NJJ for a bit with a nice lead tho.

Prob not many iona wins by double figures (if any) shooting 20% from 3 the last decade. Defense travels. JeanLouis is a beast on D. Blanketed Murray. Gist and Ross need to lead like that every night.

Good win, although must admit this doesn’t feel like a valid season to me quite yet. Gaels looked strong though! Let’s go for the sweep now!

I noticed that Pitino seemed to be very vocal with gist coming to the bench during timeouts. Id assume he's challenging him to be more aggressive going to the hoop. Looks like he listened. Impressive last few mins.

Well that was a nice win. NJJ is going to be unstoppable with more experience. I like Dylan as a distributor.

Gist is still hampered by his bandaged finger. Ross was close (no cigar) on his three point attempts. If they fell it's a 20 point win. He had good looks on his deep shots. Tomorrow night, I expect a lot of Gist, driving and dishing, mostly to IR. I'm confident he'll make them. Dylan van Eyck also had a lot of open looks, but I'm not so confident that he can hit them. But his passing and rebounding are top notch. NJJ is playing with a lot of confidence, and he should only get better.

Injuries happen but still wish there was more production from the bench. As well as he's played I'd like to see more offense from JeanLouis; granted he's only played six D1 games.

Actually one of the things that impresses me most about Jean Louis is that he doesn't try to force anything on offense. He basically takes what the defense gives him. He is extremely active on defense and is always hustling. Like his game.

Our guys are better than 2/3rds of this league and that's mainly based on first year D1 players.
Pitino positioning to steamroll the MAAC.
