I59 isn't a cat and curiosity won't kill him. That's a very valid question that I am sure RP had the answer to before he even offered the young man. It does matter. Ok, so, why? For the same reason people listen to your podcasts: curious to find out some tidbits they didn' know before. Now do you want a basketball rationale of why it matters?

Based upon his stats and video , he is not offensively challenged. I dont think he is momo jones, but seemd like he can score if that is needed. I hope we can bump his FT% above 80%. He is probably going to be on the court with the game on the line. An 80%+ FT would make him the "hammer", our Mariano Riveria. This is a great pick up, and I am just picking at nits. A/O almost 2 to 1.

Guy, not sure why you felt compelled to knock my post. FYI, speaking of Iona PG's, I'll use a comparison of Scott Machado and Asante Gist. One was pass first and one shoot first. Just wondering which type of PG that we'll have running the team, next season. Just surprised by your response.

Very solid pickup.
Probably wants Pitino to develop him for the pros and have a good chance to play in the dance.

A smart point guard, makes good decisions, solid, don't think he can carry a team like when gist would get hot, won't shoot enough to do so

1970, thanks. I watched the video (thanks 86) of Tulsa's game with Wichita State, which ended with Elijah's buzzer beater. It was his career high, 22 points, but I don't know if it was this year or last year. Based on the 8K attendance I don't believe it was this year. But I came away from watching his performance to think of him as a pass first PG, as he ran the offense first, but was also willing to look for his shot. JMO, but I'm very impressed. And as I said it was just one game.

For the same reason people listen to your podcasts: curious to find out some tidbits they didn' know before. Now do you want a basketball rationale of why it matters? Actually, I do. Pitino's offensive system doesn't require a pure pass-first PG. That said, we have a guard who averages 4 assists a game (vs only 2 turns) while also showing the ability to get to the rim AND pull up from 3. He's Asante Gist, with more height and fewer turnovers.

Yea. To paraphrase RP, this year we had allot of guys. Not depth. Goal for next year is to have allot of guys that can contribute.
