Agree mostly with the earlier takes; my podcast will have my thoughts on each player. Team is going to be deep, going to be 2 very good players not starting.
The greatest poster in the history of the MAAC as determined by THREE separate polls.
I missed the pre-game activities, and the chance to interact with other posters, But did come away with a couple of thoughts that I haven't seen posted. In no particular order:
*NJJ's body is more muscular. And after last year it was said that he has to develop his game away from the basket. And in this scrimmage it looks like he's trying to. Playing on top and even shooting threes. To me, he looks more athletic and in much better shape. *Playing with a 24 second clock had most of the possessions ending with less than five seconds on the clock. I understand that this is getting the team ready for Greece, but I'm not sure if this will help or hurt when playing NCAA rules. Anyone have an opinion? *Slazinski has been compared to DVE, but Dylan, imo, is more PF. Quinn is more SF. I can envision QS having an NBA career as an OG, even though he's listed at 6'9, he moves like a 6'4 guy. Really talented. *In the first half, Walter Clayton looked over matched, and maybe carrying too much 'baby fat'. Saw him at the end of the bench. But his second half was a different Walter Clayton, that in one word I'd describe as smooth. *Jordan Wildy was rumored as a RS candidate, and in need of additional weight. I see him as a guy who can/will contribute defensively from the get go. But, added weight would be nice. He's really quick off the floor. In practice he'll make NJJ a better player. *Trey James is in much better shape and playing with more confidence. Doesn't have the athletic skills of NJJ or JW, but can only improve when playing against those guys in practice. Right now I think he can hold his own when going against teams with big guys who are not very athletic. Work to be done, but he's moving in the right direction. *Coach Carm might have backed off recruiting Ryan Myers, but if he were playing for the Saints, I'm pretty sure he'd be their leading scorer. And I'm not saying that to rile up Siena's fanbase. *I didn't expect Elijiah to be such a great deep shooter, with such a quick release. His back court partner, demonstrated that his game is a "take it to the rim". His three point shots weren't falling, yesterday, but I have no doubt that they will in time. Looks like that on any given night, one or both will pass the 20 mark. *While I was disappointed in not seeing OS play yesterday, I'm more worried about his physical condition. Fingers crossed. *A picture is worth a thousands words, or so the saying goes. If true, the video shown on Guy's podcast is worth a million. At least that's close to the number of times I'll be watching it. *Joshua Duach looked like a guy who hasn't played a lot of minutes with the team (Thank you Capt. Obvious). But as the game wore on, his play showed more confidence. And I'll show more confidence by stating that our three frosh are all VG, and depth, aside, will contribute in their freshman years. *Parker Weiss is shooting with more confidence, but maybe is too tough on fouling (hard fouls) his teammates, and injuring them. On one play RP could be heard reminding Parker, that the guy he just knocked to the court plays for Iona and not Manhattan. *Fingers crossed that we'll be able to watch them in Greece. In the meantime there is Guy's video.

Too bad Shema and brown are not making the trip but this gives Wildy and James an opportunity to spotlight themselves and force the staff's hand in earning PT
Let it go thinking someone else might have seen it and commented, but Myers and Jolly were really going at it on both ends of the court. Bodying up on one another and playing real physical. Good healthy competition here for playing time. Two real tough kids…

I have to admit I missed it, and might have been too busy turning around to check the scoreboard.
P.S. A question for BRF. Do the Spartans come from Greece?

In retrospect, Sunday's scrimmage showed the value of RP's coaching. Last year, without the benefit of a PS, our 3Pt shooting was just so-so if you remove Isaiah Ross from the equation. At least that is how I saw it. On Sunday it was great, and while I don't have the final stats, but late in the game someone told me that at least one of the teams was shooting over 50%. And, individually, Colton Cashaw who struggled from deep, last year, and was looked upon as a defensive player/ball handler showed confidence in his shot. He finished with 13/4/3, and I don't remember him missing many/any shots. I credit RP for his improvement, along with the player, himself. JMO.

While on this subject, from the video clip provided by Guy; I thought DVE got his shot off much quicker than last season. As I recall from the video, it was only a sample size of two shots; but there was no "should I or should I not". It was quick and in the flow of the game.

Our 3-point shooting wasn't so-so, it was pretty good. We shot 34.6% from 3 on the season, good for 127th in the country. But you are correct that Ross helped the average as he took far more 3s than anyone else. Gist took the 2nd most and was at 33%. As for the rest, good shooting from Myers and Berrick were offset by bad shooting from Van Eyck and Chavez; these 4 guys all took just about the same amount of 3s.
The kids were pretty tired during the scrimmage as it followed an intense practice. I would guess it takes more energy to play defense than it does to play offense; does anyone disagree? So I think the shooting percentages were impacted by that. Additionally, Pitino at one point commented to the crowd that the overall defense was not up to the level of the offense in general just yet as the kids are still learning the system.
