Couldn't make the game but watched it on TV (ESPN+). Don't know how good the team is, because I have no idea how good LIU is. But as the game went on they certainly looked like a good team, especially their 3pt shooting and they seem to be an Iona BB team that can knock down free throws. Came away with a few thoughts. Rebounding is a concern, but their offense is pretty good. Ella Fajardo, a transfer from FDU, is only 5'6 but looks to be able to run the offense. And 10 assists in her first home game was great. Of the returning players Petra Oberilova, from the Republic of Georgia, looks much improved. Though 6'2 she's more of a threat from the perimeter than close to the basket and her 3pt shooting was impressive. Still early but a nice home court win.

So the other day you had us dead and buried because Bozzella beat the snot out of us, and now we beat up on someone and you don't know how good we are because you're judging LIU?
They'll be fine, as I said above. They're better than the worst MAAC teams, probably a notch behind the best ones.

If that means, in your opinion, that I had the team dead and buried, well that's your opinion but not the way I see it. And in defense of you I tell all the e-mails I get about your 'game' picks that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't know BB.  |

Another weird thing about last night's game. LIU's coach was not there and nobody in the arena seemed to know why. Some didn't even realize it.

I missed listening to the beginning of the game so I don't know if it was mentioned by the announcers. At the game, how did you even know this? I have no idea who their coach is. |
