They don’t want to re-enter. I have seen fans of the losing team leave and either try to sell or offer their tickets for nothing. I believe this is the early session and Miami/ Indiana is the late session. I've never heard or seen this ever work. But more power to ya if you have. 2014 first round in San Diego. Arizona beat Weber State and Weber State fans were asking people if they needed tickets (gratis). Granted this was 9 years ago and hoarding/scalping tickets was not as prevalent as today. |

Years ago my brother (also a Gael) had tickets for Final Four and Final.
Attended Final Four and then sold his tickets to Final. Sale paid for his costs and hotel.
He must have been a business major.
Of course, no reentry issues.

what is equally as disappointing is an email from Tom Moran on Sunday to stay tuned to IonaGaels.com for ticket info. Unless I missed it, nothing has been posted there. If not for Guy posting about the ionaconnection link, would never have heard anything from Iona about tickets. I think they have done a great job this year but poor communication on NCAA ticket availability not great. Also should have sent an email to season ticket holders with an update, even if the news was not good.

Hey everyone, I haven't posted on here in probably a year or two, but still read the board often. I was in AC last weekend and it was great to see all the Iona support as we completed another championship run!
As someone who grew up in/lives in CT, we've got quite the matchup coming up Friday. First off, excited for the game and ready to get our first official NCAA win!
It's a rough situation as far as tickets to the game for those who wish to attend, hopefully there's a resolution coming in regard to that.
For myself and originally two of my buddies from Iona, I prematurely bought 3 tickets when they first became available. Unfortunately, both of them are unable to make it due to work conflicts. I've gotten another buddy to go with me, but I did want to offer to anyone interested:
I do have one additional ticket I've already purchased to the game (Section 126) and I'd like to offer it for cheap to anyone here. Although it's only the one ticket, I figure it's best to try to get it into an Iona fan's hands if possible, before being forced to sell it back to TicketMaster.
If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to chat however you'd like. I understand it's hard to do these types of things without having met, but I'll gladly try to find the most comfortable way of making the exchange. Please let me know if you're interested. GO GAELS!!

Great avatar--Ricky McGill-4 time champ! Will never forget being in Indiana for a much hyped game between Iona and Valpo. Both teams were ranked prominently in the preseason as two of the best mid majors in the country. McGill was entering his freshman year along with I believe Proctor, who later would transfer to another school. I asked coach Cluess how he felt about McGill, and his response was that he would be a D3 level player at best unless he changed his work ethic. It was a motivational message that clearly worked, as a few years later McGill would become a 4-time champion and will be remembered as one of the toughest and hardest working players in Iona history. |
