Never had this thought before... now I hate Bill Murray for the rest of my life.

Well, that's what can happen when the Selection Committee says f-you and pits you versus a No. 1 (by KenPom) or 2 seed (by NET).
Great season Gaels!!! Nothing to hang your heads about.

Proud of the team. Went up against a powerhouse. Great season. Guys I’m frustrated in the fact that we may never see this mid-major win an NCAA game. We have a good program but never can win a tournament game. Now with coach Pitino rumored to be leaving (many of you will be thrilled especially 70) we’re stuck in the MAAC and recruiting will be tough as well as winning a NCAA Tournament Game

When RP said he was proud of the "Iona Gaels" at halftime instead of "my team" that kind of told me he's gone. I expect he'll be at St. John's, Georgetown or Notre Dame within a week. Knowing the way he's wired, he's going to want payback on UConn as soon as possible, so probably one of the two Big East schools. If he goes to St. John's, he doesn't have to move.
I'm super proud of this team. Wish we could've replicated the first half for another 20 minutes. UConn is an awesome team, but IMO, RP's stubborn refusal to stick with his man-to-man all season cost us some wins; you simply cannot play this UConn team man-to-man with Adama S in the paint. What happened to RP's patented double-teams and half-court traps? RP has one of the two-best matchup zones of all-time, and he never used it. IMO, fair critiques.
Awesome season though. No shame in losing to a a great Huskies team. But I do think RP didn't have the right game plan defensively, as has been the case a lot this season. In that regard, RP's age/stuborness is showing. So if he does leave, it's not the end of the world. The oldest coach to win a championship was Calhoun at 68. Father Time is undefeated on the sidelines, too.

Proud of the team, the School, the players the coach and staff and the fans. Thesecond half was tough to watch. The 2 uconn bigs made us look foolish. Tip of cap to uconn. They are just that good. May be the end of an era in New Ro. The future is uncertain. Go Gaels!

The start of the second half reminded me of the North Carolina tournament loss. Swift onslaught.
I hope the nucleus of the team remains intact.
Proud of the effort the team made this season.

I give UConn a lot of credit, they played an awesome second half. As others have said, I'm very proud of this team. There is a lot of uncertainty now as to what is going to happen with RP and, I suppose, some players. Whatever happens, I will always love our Iona Gaels.
Thanks for an enjoyable season.
Go Gaels!!!

Proud of the team. Went up against a powerhouse. Great season. Guys I’m frustrated in the fact that we may never see this mid-major win an NCAA game. We have a good program but never can win a tournament game. Now with coach Pitino rumored to be leaving (many of you will be thrilled especially 70) we’re stuck in the MAAC and recruiting will be tough as well as winning a NCAA Tournament Game It'll happen. Would've happened this season, but drew one of the best teams in the country. A 1 or 2 seed masked as a 4 seed. Losing RP wouldn't be the end of the world. The NCAA pretty much hates him, has for a long time. The only coach to ever have a title vacated should tell people something. They stuck it to him with UConn in this first draw. He'll always have a target on his back, won't be given any breaks as long as the current people running the show continue running it. So if an NCAA win is the top goal for Gaels fans, honestly, someone other than RP wouldn't be the worst thing at a mid-major like Iona. The more I think about it, the more I think it would be good for RP and good for Iona if he ends up going to the Big East. He needed back in the game, Iona gave him that opportunity. Some younger blood to take what's he's built with the majority of these players coming back could be a win-win for all, and RP back in a Power 5 is more in his wheelhouse, as he'll need all the help he can get when it comes to March.
