Former Knicks Star Discusses Leadership Development Wednesday, September 13, 5-7 p.m. Burke Lounge, Spellman Hall
Former Knicks and NBA All-Star Allan Houston sits down with Dr. Munsch to talk about his experiences, challenges, and accomplishments as a professional athlete, mentor, family man, and entrepreneur. He'll discuss the lessons he learned that led him to start his social impact brand FISLL (Faith, Integrity, Sacrifice, Leadership, Legacy).
Houston was a shooting guard for the New York Knicks from 1993-2005. He made the NBA All-Star Team twice and also won a gold medal as a member of the U.S. men's basketball team at the 2000 Summer Olympics

That loser Braziller quoted the post for Joe M but not the one for Cluess. Asshole, but not unexpected. Yup, just noticed that. He's an asshole. He doesn't even know how to spell Iona since the POS went to SJU

He doesn't even know how to spell Iona since the POS went to SJU I think Braziller went to like Drew University in New Jersey. He just polishes SJ's nub all the time because they have a bigger following than we do. Journalism is mostly about money, like most for profit businesses. And sports journalism is pretty jaded. Look at all the journalists who were rooting hard for Pitino to leave and join the BE or any P-5 programs, because story lines. They love the mid major for two weeks a year at the beginning of the NCAAT, again because of story lines.

They love the mid major for two weeks a year at the beginning of the NCAAT, again because of story lines. These are good points but I think it goes deeper than that. Newspaper reporters have taken kickbacks from politicians PR machines and companies for years, even when they were the leading news media. Today they are a dying media and the papers are notorious for not paying decent salaries to their reporters. If you scratched the surface you will find that many of these reporters are nothing but mouthpieces for the PR departments of MSG, various political folks, major corporate entities etc... so I am sure that with the loosened rules regarding money and college athletics, many are vying to develop passive revenue streams to offset their lack of salary. I am sure if Iona decided to drop $200K into a pot for hoops PR and handed out envelopes a few times a year to the top 4 writers in the NYC area, we would be getting far better coverage than we currently do now. Also a couple of my friends were sports writers (1 still is but mostly hockey) and part of their problems were they are huge fans themselves. It is very easy to get caught up in the personalities of their idols. That is a human factor that is hard to control.

I would definitely NOT do that!!! All birds come home to roost. Let the team's action speak. As an old alum, I talk to everyone who will listen about Iona. And there is a lot to talk about: Iona NYPres nursing school, Iona Ireland, all the successful alums, for example.

And there is a lot to talk about: Iona NYPres nursing school, Iona Ireland, all the successful alums, for example. I would never pay anyone off. I would do the opposite... any special events I would invite the other writers and leave him out of it. Iona should have a PR firm working with the AD, with ties to the writers, feeding them articles and inside information etc.. I used to be in the NY papers all the time back when I started my career. Before I took over the PR responsibilities regarding zoning projects, our company had a very bad rep with the general public because they always said "No comment" or would quote a law to the writers. I thought back to my time at Iona and my impression of the literature majors at the time is that many of them were lazy hacky sack who sat on the lawn strumming their guitars while I was running betweenclasses and two jobs. I figured out that the writers were only reporting on info they were given by the different sides of the issue and that they wrote articles that made my company look bad because the other side was the only folks that were making the writers jobs easy by providing info and quotes to use in their articles. I formed a team that included two attorneys, my assistant and two folks that worked for me and we went on the attack. we provided so much data and gave them so much access to what we were doing we actually got gtreat press or at the very least balanced stories. If Iona hired a PR firm that would provide access to the staff and players, pull data together and basically write articles for the various writers, I would tend to think we would get a lot more positive press. Even if we pulled support staff for the PR effort out of the business schoo,l to push more online stories, I think it would help us. It would be great for our kids to get practical experience under industry professionals, all while helping to grow the Iona Hoops brand. I am thrilled with our direction... could not be prouder or more positive about where Iona is headed.

I too am proud of what the university has done. And with the performance that I expect from Tobin and the team, media should be pounding on our doors. At this point the two two most dynamic universities in the NY area are Iona and Hofstra. Unfortunately SJU is slipping fast.

So Braziller has really made some strong allegations against Iona over Jenkins finally gaining eligibility at SJU. What a piece of shit, and fan boy for Pitino and SJU.
In recent article about Jenkins, writes "Iona was clearly not helpful". Flat out lie

Obviously Iona wasn't going to hand out a degree and DJ shopped around until he found a school that would. Good for him I guess. But also good for Iona for not bending over and making a special case for a student just because.

There are a lot of details that will never come out. Which would make it even easier to post something without having to back any of it up. Why go there in the first place.
