I'm going with a new fan strategy. It seems that everyday that I'm expecting something good to happen, nothing does. So for the next couple of days I'm going to concentrate on the NFL Draft, at least for the first three rounds. And that should ensure 'some' Iona recruiting success. What happens when you are expecting something bad to happen?

Durugordon vid package, this one highlighting his defensive prowess. And reminder he averages 12p 6r to boot. Kid looks good. Isn’t he a 3x transfer though who would have to sit next year, or is there a way to finagle around it?

Saw that Joel Brown was looking for a graphic designer and he commented on Langston Wilsons IG post saying "Go Gaels" I'd be very surprised if he doesn't commit to Iona now haha.

Supposedly much more difficult to get approved this year. Pretty much the only way to get waiver is to prove some type of "mental health/stress" issues. Lots of 2X transfers have entered portal. I guess being told the NCAA will again be lenient, despite what they just announced and believe waiver will be granted. Going to be interesting to see what happens. As far as Iona players in portal, can't see how Jenkins gets waiver, going from Iona to SJU. IF Brookshire does transfer to a school near home, think he has a good chance to get waiver.

After 3 years of Pitino, I think we all have some mental health/stress issues. Does that count?

Anytime we read good news, the decision that sparked the good news probably happened some days before. I can only go by when I read the good news.

But like everything else, I's have to be dotted and T's have to be crossed before things are official in this world. Things are happening. As usual, the devil is in the details.

Durugordon has been through a lot. He lost his mother to cancer when he was nine years old and his father died when he was 15 due to complications from a heart attack. His four older siblings, especially his brother Shariff, have taken over the parental role in his life and I am sure with the changes coming to his life over the next two years (graduating, deciding where to play pro ball, getting the right agent etc...) is a stress and he would like to be near the folks that have guided him along the way including his family and his former developmental coaches. I would think he would have a good shot at a waiver.

Hint on the slight delay of commitment announcement. Graphic designer. The new world of announcements on social media...lol We have to have someone in the Athletic Department who can put together a graphic design for announcement by recruits. Or hire someone outside who can do this. No?
