St. John's, up by 10 points at the half, just manage to hold on and beat North Texas 53-52 at a neutral site. Daniss led the Red Storm with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 5 turnovers. No other former Gaels got into the game.
College of Charleston (1-2) lost to Vermont 73-64 at a neutral court.

And that Charleston loss is definitely not as impressive as it appeared opening night.

And that Charleston loss is definitely not as impressive as it appeared opening night. Deja vu moment? Haven’t we been encouraged by an early season close loss before only to scratch our heads later wondering how the f_ _k we lost to that (fill in the blank) team? I know this has happened, I just can’t remember off the top of my head.

Early away games are always tough. However, in the SHU thread I offered the opinion that against us SHU played better than C of C. One I saw in person and one on TV.

And I guess that SHU had experience going up against TA's press. In our first two games we played in front of full houses, and I don't expect that in a Monday morning game. Will it affect the team's play?
Off topic in a way, but the former Gael who has most surprised me has been Quinn Slazinski. Thought he was in over his head at WVU, but believe he has had back to back games with just under 20 points. Good for him.

And that Charleston loss is definitely not as impressive as it appeared opening night. Well, having watched the game, C of C had it completely in control until about half way thru the 2nd and Vermont started raining 3s the rest of the game.

Actually, Manhattan was losing at the 11 minute mark, 52-51. And with three minutes to go the Jaspers were up four as Super probably intended to post, if it weren't for the early weekend start.
