Tidbits (in no particular order):
* C of C is probably considered a better team than SHU, but I think SHU played better against us. I thought that we would have an edge since TA coached at least two games against the Pioneers, last season. But I forgot that meant that the SHU coached against TA, also. Had a great game plan in attacking our press. Their ball movement was also VG.
* Of the players that played, only two, Bates and Brice have yet to score.
* Think that there was something wrong with GG. I know he was in foul trouble, but was taken out of the game, in the early minutes, and it had nothing to do with foul trouble. We are a much better team with GG on the court.
* Waiting on seeing Rodrigo Farias on the court.
* In the first half I thought that TA was too laid back, and was concerned. He erased my concerns in the second half as he was very vocal, but since my seats are so far away from the Iona bench, I couldn't tell whether he was yelling at the players or the refs.
* As far as the OOC is concerned, I don't see any/many games that I can put in the win column.
* Our 3pt shooting improved from 25% to 50%.
* Quigley has been a pleasant early surprise. Has to get a lot stronger, but he gives a PG for the future.
* Adewale is living up to my nick name for him, "The Sultan of Swat" with three blocks in each game. Reference his bad FT miss, If Bob Uecker was doing the play by play, it would have sounded like, "Just a little outside".
* Know it's early, but my names for the team:
Offense-Great Expectations
Defense-Junk Yard Dogs
Free Throws-The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight
* Dylan Saunders showed two things in his four minutes of PT. Good on offense, bad on defense. Will get better with more PT, imo.
* I'll conclude with, nothing is certain, everything is possible.
Quigley reminds me of a more skilled Ibn Muhammad. Love this freshman class and the potential they have.
