At first I thought it was the clock operator, but it happened so often it had to be an equipment problem. I can certainly say that the SHU coach had reason to be upset. Wondering if we have the digital tickets being run through the shot clock.
P.S. Would someone let 1970 know that I'm kidding.

Great turnout and atmosphere at the HAC. Now let’s guard the baseline. With the exception of the final 2:00, the crowd appeared cerebral, as if watching a tennis match or a Shakespeare reading. The cheerleaders under each basket were enthused but that seemed to be the only excitement the television view offered.

Agree with gaelhoops we didn’t play well tonight but a very gutsy last 5 minutes salvaged a win. tretout was amazing, but we need another scorer. Shema will help some but we are going to have to score with our defense, and with Gordon in foul trouble our lack of offense was even more apparent. Our defense at times played great but at times let them break the press way too easily, again Shema will help there. Some other thoughts: Clock problems are ridiculous, this has been happening for 3 years. Gordon’s 5th foul was one of the dumbest fouls I’ve ever seen. brown never looks to shoot, and then he takes and makes two huge buckets in the final minutes. senior! One of the worst foul calls I’ve ever seen on Quigley near the end, he makes a clean steal, the sacred heart guy falls on him, and Quigley is called for the foul! I guess we don’t need Rick Pitino to sell the place out, and that was a legit sell out, unlike some of Pitino’s. We are going to be a bad free throw shooting team, that is going to be a problem. Each of the freshmen have shown some nice things so far, but they are frosh so you will have to take good with the bad. Quigley however does not play like a freshmen! Glad we escaped with a win, being 0-2 for 10 days would have been tough! I had a perfect view of the Quigley "foul" - in no universe is that even close to a foul. I was sitting with three Sacred Heart fans (Who were a hoot!) And they turned to me and said "gotta be fair, no way that's a foul". Only 1 guy in the building thought it was a foul. It was a make up call for all the clock snafus. Otherwise we could have had fisticuffs during the handshake line.

The place was rocking from beginning to end. Better than any game I can remember from last year.

Also… has anyone else noticed how chipped the rims are? Why can’t they repaint them lol

With 9 minutes left down 8 I asked Joebird if this was buy game to which he acknowledged, it was. The next thought was how excruciating it must be to write that check after losing.
Ledgelife avoided.
Adewale does so many good things that don't appear in the box score.
Quigley doesn't play like a freshman.
Thank God for senior guards.
Great atmosphere at the HAC, the joint was electric.
Congrats to Tobin on his first win as a Gael. May there be many more.
Go Gaels!

FYI, school is closed today, so you won't see banner unveil tonight. Theyre making a mad push to get students there, but if they arent quite there in full force, this is why. Cute. I highly doubt this is the reason but believe what you want to believe. Why would you doubt this as the reason?

I had a very good viiew of that play too; horrendous mistake by the ref. But they are human and can’t get every call right. SHU coach was really playing with fire with the refs. Surprised he didn’t get a T. He seemed unhinged.

Thought the crowd was uneven--loud when things were good, muted when not.
Thought we saw a great moment of growth tonight, taking over late to win when we didn't necessarily deserve to.
Full presser on my podcast in the morning.

Did you watch the same game I did? How in the world can you conclude that we played like shit? I saw a hard fought, gutsy performance. A back in forth game that we willed ourselves to win. Only going to get better when Oz returns! Come on man. That was nowhere near how good we looked vs. Charleston. No time for comments like this. Gutsy win. Tretout hell of a game and some great play from the freshman but otherwise not good. Let’s be realistic. It’s Sacred Heart This is a pretty awful take man. We have a dozen new guys who have never played before and have played 2 conf favorites tough and to the end. Breathe.

It’s Sacred Heart Didn't you agree we'd be uneven in our performances this season, due to the new roster and new system and now especially down Os? Your expectations have always been out of whack, but more than ever right now.

Team still getting used to playing together. Tretout is a stud and Gordon is too (though he had a rough game tonight). Quigley and Sultan have real potential. Panzo played well overall tonight and is a weapon on the perimeter. Team will improve significantly as they jell and Oz returns.
A lot to like with this team.

Very composed as a freshman. Coach will have to navigate the waters with Brown if his free throw challenges continue. I’m most looking forward to when Panzo and Shema are on the the court together. Two legitimate outside shooting threats.
