Not trolling. We play in the MAAC. It’s basically irrelevant basketball in comparison. That’s why all the golden eggs high tailed it out of here when the goose left town. But at least we still have Shema.. Except you said that both Fordham and St. John's kicked Iona's ass. But never explained it. I59, if you keep cursing like this, posters will ask for you to be banned!

Sorry, but I never complained about cursing, just about taking Our Lord's name in vain. But, I'll be more respectful.

Interesting comments from Gaeloarsman!! Certainly hope he was not a teammate of mine!!! We go with what we have and Rome was not built in a day! In 1966 we did not know which end of the oar to use 87-68-69 Met Champs!!! It takes a season! Right the course Gaels!! Yes Coach Al

As awful as the MAAC is, it has produced an Elite Eight team, an at-large team and at least two other NCAA tournament wins that I can think of over the past 15 seasons. It is a poor conference, but not sure how many others in the same class as the MAAC have this track record.

All valid points; however, it doesn’t change the fact that (thanks to the NCAA) the MAAC and other similar conferences have been turned into talent incubators for the high majors.

Fordham is not a better program than Iona. It is A-10 in name only. Since 1980 Iona has been the better program and it is not really close.

It is obvious. With the new multiple transfer policy it is only going to get worse, for us. This was clearly done by design. I dont know what the answer is. If there is an answer. We might be a single A team funneling talent up to triple AAA and the majors. We might try to figure out how to dominate our conference. Maybe dropping down to Div 3 to go back to student/amateur competition would be refreshing.

Our program has been in the D1 NCAA tourney 6 times in the last decade. Yes the new rules make it a lot harder, but this is a crazy thought. Instead of 1200 at Hynes we would have 120.
