My response to all the "top 5 holiday movie" tweets I've seen. The older folk will appreciate! Guy, thanks for the reminder. Just watched White Christmas on Netflix (it's on thru Sunday) and really enjoyed it. I've only been away from home for one Christmas, 1960, while in Germany (Army). And that might explain why one of my favorite Christmas movies is, "I'll Be Home For Christmas". During WWII, I was reminded of the one person you never wanted to see approaching your house was the Western Union man. Had cousins who lived nearby serving, but they both returned home. Did see a lot of Gold, Blue and Red Star banners hanging in neighbors' windows. Must have been tough having a loved one on the fighting front. |
