Imagine how upset we would be right now if Iona was very good and had metrics similar to Indiana State, lost in the conf tournament, and got fucked like they did.
I mean they had the highest net ever to be left out at 28. The next closest before that was 32 in another year.
Why the hell would the NCAA create this tool if they don't plan on using it?
There's really no point in really caring much about it if a team like Virginia who is 30 spots worse gets in over you.

Indiana St was better than them, but you did notice they used it for the 3 major teams that were last 4 in. 5 more years mid majors will be gone from the tournament |

Yep. I read a story today wherein Izzo and the Commissioner of the SEC were saying that the mind-major tourney winners should no longer get an automatic bid. They argue that the days of "The Cinderella" are over and over-rated.

Edited to add: Didn't Izzo get bounced in the first round by a mid-major a couple of years ago?
