Games I'd love to add or see Fordham Vermont Maryland I think we should also do a top 25 buy road game. Kentucky, Duke, Purdue? collect a buck and get the kids in good form.

Agree, not going to 24 league games, so I think we'll end up with fewer than 20--which I like, a lot. I don't care what's expected of us, but if there are say 13 OOC games instead of 11 we can buy some weak opponents and play 2 buy games in addition to what we have and that would be fine by me.

Absolutely hate the unbalanced schedule, but there's no way around that.
If going unbalanced, then I agree, figure out a way to get to 18 games.
One negative with 18 league games, too many MAAC programs just don't care, and couldn't even schedule 11 OOC games or just didn't bother to attempt.
New commissioner has to implement a rule limiting the amount of non D1 games you can schedule.

Looks like former Louisville and Xavier head coach Chris Mack, has been hired as Charleston’s new head coach. Expected to be at Hynes next year.

Mentioned this on my podcast I believe, but I have heard the MAAC is NOT going away from a 20-game league schedule even with the uneven number of teams.
I'm actually OK with that. If we needed to fill MORE OOC games, I could see us having to go the route others do--scheduling a couple non-D1s. But if we had MORE than 20 MAAC games, I wouldn't like that either. I like the current total of (up to) 11 OOC games. Speaking of which, given the staff's complete focus on the roster, I have not heard anything new schedule-wise.

Just a suggestion. How about playing one of our OOC games at the Westchester County Center. Consider: 1. It would make that game 'special'. 2. See if the WCC venue might be suitable for the MAAC tournament. 3. See if it affects attendance.

Site lines stink, isn't it the same size? What is the advantage to play there?

See if the WCC venue might be suitable for the MAAC tournament. 3. See if it affects attendance. I understand the lure of the WCC. It is definitely in a good location to draw well from Manhattan and Iona and Marist. Not an awful location for the jersey schools and Siena and Fairfield. There is one reason the WCC can’t ever be an option for the MAAC tournament. The floor seating on the sidelines is a horrible place to watch a basketball game. If you are behind the player benches you can’t even see the game. If you are across from the players it is not much better. I say this as a high school coach of 20 years who loves playing there, and made it a goal yearly to make the semifinals of the section 1 tournament. Unfortunately, my school moved to Section 9 3 years ago so it is no longer an option for us. Amazing place for high school basketball because no one really needs to sit on the first floor sidelines. However, it would be tough for a college tournament.

sienafan1480, thanks for your feedback, and congrats on your coaching career. I've stopped following HS BB closely since I no longer get our local newspaper (they stopped 'at your door' service) but I know how the HS teams loved making it to the County Center for the County Championships. And, over the years I've probably attended about a dozen games there, hs and college. Always sat upstairs and I never gave sight lines any consideration, and appreciate the info you provided. I feel that the County really missed the boat, when they spent a lot of money on renovating the building, but failed to really improve the BB portion of the WCC. I still think that Iona could play a RS game there and maybe attract people from the WP area. Going forward I see student attendance at home games declining with the realization that the players are being paid, and students losing interest.
