I can’t remember ever playing WVU before. Any idea when we last played them?
Go Gaels!

Looking for a spirited effort as I anticipate the team will play up to the competition.
Something similar to the first half against Princeton. Hopeful the team can keep up that effort for 40 minutes.

Nope. Have not played. Tony brought the Women's team down there in 2008 and beat them!

greg, closest I came to Morgantown was in the late nineties driving to Lexington (Rupp Arena) to watch the Gaels play Syracuse in the NCAA's. Trip took us right by WVU. Hope your trip has a better ending.

They are a very talented team, with a couple of possible NBA players on the squad. Hopefully our energy and defensive can lead the way for a W! A side note to old fans: An old friend, the late Ron "Fitz" Williams, was an All American for WVA and played 8 solid years in the NBA., before becoming an Iona assistant coach in the 80's. Ron was a really, great guy, passed away way too young! He loved to play pickup ball with the students in Mulcahy and then grab a burger at the Beechmont. RIP Ron and Go Gaels!

Didn't Ron have a son who played for Iona? He was a pretty good 3pt shooter, if memory serves.
P.S. Another former Iona player, Mike Ice, transferred to Iona from WVU.
