No, but they give a rat's ass about basketball. They won't flood the building, but the community will come out more than Bridgeport did this past year. What an embarrassment the final was. I hope you are right. Maybe they should move the Basketball Hall of Fame to Bridgeport or put Springfield College in the MAAC (after they upgrade them to D1) Again: for D-II NCAA tourney games there, they've had good crowds for teams coming from locales that require plane trips. There is a "community" that will come out. Whether that community is 500 or 2000, I don't know. We'll find out. Also, no matter how the first year goes, it's not a gauge of whether Springfield's a success or failure. The idea behind the 3-year deal is to build up the market. If, say, only 500 locals come out and have a good time, they'll come back the year after and bring some friends.
