In my 30 plus years of rooting for Iona, this is a top 5 moment. Yes I know CIT, nobody cares etc, but this team is special and we should enjoy their accomplishments. Wednesday we will be one of 12 teams still playing basketball. I for one will enjoy every minute that night. Thanks to the players and coaches for making this a special year, and thanks to the administration for paying to play at home. Now we need to finish the job, and bring home our first championship! gfan80: I agree with you regarding this being a top 5 moment, and this team is special. Think back to that Bryant Game; would you ever have expected being at this juncture? A great sign from this game was the defense picking it up in the 2nd half; if this was the beginning of the year Iona gets its doors blown off. This team is coming on; but I think sometimes what is overlooked is Cluess and staff are coming on. This team is special; but I'm getting a feeling this coaching staff is very special. I think we have some great years ahead of us. Nothing against Willard; but thank you Seton Hall.

What a great day for me.
First my wife gets me a new Iona sweatshirt for my birthday (which isn't until June) and then the Gaels big win!
At my age, it doesn't get much better than this!! ;D

One other thought; imagine how much fun that chartered flight home is going to be for these guys. Enjoy and get home safely!

On cablevision you can add the bonus sports package and get fox sports and than just cancel after the game. Z-73 maybe your cable offers that. Channel is in the low 400's.
Side note yes that offensive foul on Machado was absolutely bogus! Luckily it didn't matter.

Ok fellas... great victory but time to get back to reality.....Santa Clara beat Gonzaga twice during the regular season. This will not be an easy game. Armand reminds me of former NBAer Dell Curry when he is hot and was the difference in the game. Glover was Glover and Scotty dd a great job finding the open man. Bring it home!

I wonder when the last time the Gaels got a 28-4 run pasted on them and won the game? Gotta be a long time.

Similar to the Maac championship we expect to win, hopefully we won't be disappointed twice. I am sure Santa Clara is good but playing at home and they have to make such a long trip has to give Gaels big advantage. My guess is we are 7 1/2 to 8 point favorites.
Agree with Ghost of Willard that we have a special one in Cluess. It took him a bit to break in but now you can see he is a very good one. I am also glad Willard left so we now have what I think is a better coach. I also hope Willard stays there a while because I don't think Cluess is looking to leave the metro area and the one place I could see him ending up is with Lyons and Seton Hall.
Probably strange for Lyons, I am sure when he saw late March leaving date that there was no way Iona would still be playing.
Also agree that what is great about this post season is every single player has contributed. I really think this will help a lot next year. I expect Pelcher, Trinity and Randy to all now be a big part of next years top 25 club!

I listened to our own audio for most of the game but tumed into the ESTU stream here and there. I must say their stream was very balanced a vg job. And ETSU's coach was total class in his post game interview. ETSU has won my repect. I believe Coach Bartow is the son of Gene Bartow of UCLA and UAB fame.

This may sound stupid to someone who looks at the stats and sees that 53 of our 83 points were scored by 2 players (thank you to Mike and Sean); however, if you ever wanted to see a total team victory, it was today - everyone contributed! The perfect ending to such a team victory was having Trinity Fields, who had only 19 FT attempts on the year, go to the stripe with 5 seconds left and nail 2! This team doesn't know how to quit! LET'S DO IT WEDNESDAY AND LET RAH AND ALEJO GO OUT AS CHAMPIONS! Trinity has come on like gangbusters. He will assume Rah's role next year and not miss a beat.

I was very impressed with these guys today. After going up 14-0 and then getting outscored 26-4 and going into the half down 6, the Gaels had no quit. It was an exciting game and a wierd game at times -- I still don't know what the ref was doing taling to ETSU coach while rubbing the ball in the 2nd half. We had a bad turnover right after that. Then the totally BS call on Scott for an offensive foul when I thought the game was sealed. Anyway, I am mighty proud of how Iona gutted it out and got the win against a very good ETSU team. I am truly upset that Fox Sports is not carried on my cable station. I guess I will not be watching on Wednesday night unless SID can pull a rabbit out of the hat. Gary was actulally ahead of the video this afternoon, for the first time I can remember. I hope the "W" has lifted OT's spirits. Go Gaels!!! Z: You may be able to buy an upgrade on your cable package. That is how I have gotten ESPNU all season, and it includes the Fox college Sports. Cost me $5 per month, and I will cancel next Thursday. Call you provider.

My one and only criticism of Cluess would be his use (or lackof use) of Trinity. I love what Rah brings to the team, but if given the opportunity Trinity may improve upon Rah's contributions.
