Injury occurred when Smyth was going up for a layup in the Rider game. He re injured it in a scramble in the SPC game. At the game I thought the Rider play was a blatant foul. However I DVR'd the game and it actually wasn't a foul. Smyth was going up with a lot of steam and at the same time the Rider player went to strip him of the ball. The Rider player got all ball and the force on the ball was extremly hard and at the same time Smyth hand stuck to the ball as his body went up and I guess the force of the two going separate ways caused the shoulder injury. Very rare play. Yep, that's what I thought, re his injury. Thought he was a mere decoy in the Final and when he went into the scrum on the floor simply hurt it some more.

Let's call it 6 months shall we. Not a bad call, ichoops. Shoulder surgery rehab: 3 months would be considered very good and 6 months would be average. Everything back to 100%within a year tops. Of course, it all depends on the level of damage that occurred and the extent of surgical repair required to fix. Was it all torn ligament repair the rotator cuff or both? Also, some people heal quicker than others. All in all he should be fine and thank his lucky stars that he's not on scholarship as a left-handed pitcher... if that were the case, they'd just rub some JB juice on it.

What about torn labrum repair?
In any event, a 6 month rehab period would allow for very little hoops time between now and the first day of formal practice.
