No Mr. Doom. It's quite different than hiding a fact that a player of Momo's quality could be playing. The brochure names him as a new addition to the team. This obviously helps them sell tickets. There is much more financial motivation to naming him as a player than to hiding him. The honest thing to say would be that he is a potential addition to the team. The brochure is all about selling tickets, and naming Momo Jones as an addition to the team before he actually is seems all about the money. And potentially selling a product (an Iona team with Momo Jones) that doesnt actually exist this season. Unless the people who wrote the brochure know something we dont. And you say Iona has been up front about this process. Maybe they have, but I'm not sure where. Maybe if you are keeping up with every single press release, but I havent. I looked at the brochure, and with no mention of the waiver (or potential of sitting out this season), I think they were less than up front about his status when trying to sell season tickets (make money).

MoMo's a member of the team as stated in the brochure. Whether he can play this year is up to the NCAA. I doubt if there are many fans whose ticket purchase would depend on whether MoMo is eligible this year or not.

Welcome, JamesG. But I agree with the others. I think you're looking for something that isn't there. I agree that it's odd that it's written in a way that suggests he's going to play, but I don't think it was done with malice and I certainly don't think it's going to affect ticket sales.

Got to think that just about anyone who is contemplating buying Iona season tix know what's going on with MoMo. I'd be surprised if anyone didn't.

Not 1 top 25 vote in USA today, maybe this would have changed if it was done a day later. Cluess is a voter.
This is going to be an exciting year, I expect to beat Purdue.

Decision was probably made on October 15th. That was the date that Ichoops posted (in this thread), "forget about the waiver, fellas". NCAA reportedly was waiting to see which way he would go so they would know the right way to go. Ichoops is en fuego.
