If I had to guess, Iona will not play him against William and Mary. The Tribe is pretty weak--we should be able to blow them away, no reason to force him back into action here.

that's cool...but the bigger concern is that it will be long term injury...it's sad...he's such a good kid...we'll miss his on court IQ...

My biggest worry is that it is something chronic. I have my doubts that he has ever been 100% since injuring it. I'm not real familiar with this type of injury. Anybody have any idea exactly what it is and what the prospects for recovery?

Kyle's MRI was scheduled for today. Here's hoping for good news in the near future.

Latest Basket Case update says Smyth could dress tomorrow. If he does, I have to think he won't play much.

I wonder if they have it in their power to consider preserving a year of his eligibility and having him just come back next year, when the team could use his talents even more, with several key players graduating?

He comes back next year in any event. He already red-shirted his frosh year. And finally, in order to red shirt, you have to play in less than 30% of the regular season games. Other than the 3 reasons stated, it is a great idea.

I'm more concerned about the kid's health, than his eligibility at this point. I know we're all good fans who are really into this season, but as I've stated, I'm confident Jermel and Sean can carry the 3 pt. shooting load.

Bill, Isn't also about defense, leadership, energy and other great talents that Kyle shows? If he is out it will hurt for sure.

But the other guys have the ability to step up. And they will I believe. That's what "teams" do. When one guy struggles, goes down, etc. someone steps up. I love that Glove said this win was for Kyle. We have a "team" and that is leadership from Glove.

We need Smyth and I hope he's able to comeback at full strength. I certainly wouldn't rush him back as Iona should be able to handle the upcomoing games without him. But as in the case with Momo and the wainer, this a special year, and I want all hands on deck come March. The future will take care of itself!

I would like to see him get the opportunity to play at the Garden. Also, hope he hits a late three to put us over the 125 mark.
